From my understanding NO you lose the player but he no longer counts against your cap, but you are no where near the cap (unless you just made a trade) you have almost 9mil in cap space!

the point i was a little hazy on is that the nhl makes the player forfeit salary, so the player is still getting paid by the team.... he's still a member on the team, so shouldn't that mean his salary counts against the cap?
just want to be on the safe side if i get a player suspended near smyth's reutrn....
All Suspended players do not count against the cap in the BRHL2.
In the FHL Sim; teams do not pay players in the games that they are suspended for. Which is why we manually suspend players to put them on the IR. It allows the sim to calculate the infor for us.
