After two disappointing losses, The Pittsburgh Penguins stepped up and dealt for a number 1 centerman.
Coming from a struggling Ottawa Senators team, Vaclav Prospal is on his way to join the Penguins in Pittsburgh before taking off with the team in a couple of days to Montreal.
In return the Senators received highly touted up and comers Mitch Fadden and Robbie Schremp along with a 2nd rounder. Geoff Sanderson was added to the deal in a cap relief effort to keep the Pens under the cap.
We are hoping Prospal will team with Jagr and Kostitsyn making the line more productive and placing Sillinger in a more comfortable role down with Tkachuk and Stumpel. This helps to solidify 2 lines and add more scoring something Pittsburgh really has been lacking.
