The Oiler's are the biggest joke in the NHL.. The Flames may lose in the first round, or they may go further...But you make fun because they lose in the first round to top teams in the past when the Oilers haven't even made the playoffs since 2006. Before their fluke run they exited in the first round 4 times in 5 years, the one time they didn't exit in the 1st they didn't make the playoffs..

With that being said, I don't even care about history? Who does? Answer: People who's teams suck now.. You had the greatest player in the world fall into you lap on your team and you sold him for cash...I didn't even follow hockey when either the Flames or Oilers won so I don't care.

Sure is easy to not care about history when you have none.

The Oilers are a bipolar team with poor coaching, bad management and players on their team that wouldn't be on half the teams in the NHL. (Pouliot and Reddox)

That said, if you are a Flames fan, that little brother envy Calgary fans have had for decades always shows through when the discussion comparing the teams comes up.

Don't worry junior, the Flames will grow up one day.

That said, I agree, right now, Oilers suck.

Well, so far 1 out of 2 right.... if MacTavish keeps making stupid decisions with his "reliable" information then Edmonton will be eliminated too....

I completely forgot about this thread!

I love it, Bryce and Kirk have the the Oilers not only winning the division but winning the cup, even I wouldn't of picked the Canucks to win the Cup and people say I'm a homer!!!

i think that the canucks have the potential to get into the conference finals, maybe even the cup finals... but i give the odds for san jose to get by the canucks in any potential series...

i think that luongo's injury means he won't feel overworked in the playoffs and could be, dare i say it, better than two years ago....

i wouldn't be surprised to see New Jersey beating Washington in the Eastern Conference finals while Vancouver meets San Jose in the Western Conference finals...

oh I'm way past that. I have never been so frustrated as a hockey fan as this season. The Oilers have no system, horrendous special teams, and have quit on the coach since the second week of the season, but he's still here.

their goalie sucks aswell,, the whole system is in place to keep the team in the game because if they ever got in an up and down game roli would get beat 3-4 times a game on odd man rush's..in odd man rush situation's roli isnt athletic enough to make saves moving at the top of the crease or outside it from side to side and thats why the team wont be let loose by macmoron.... the one thing the oilers do seem to limit is odd man rush's, hence the 1-2-2 defensive system they play, they keep all the shots from the outside and teams stay to the outside all game peppering roli (nice save% tho) and then in time roli tire's out and gives up weak goals, like the r.neidermayer one last night...This system will keep the team struggling to make the playoffs. If they had a SOLID goalie where the team could play run and gun and say average 3.5+ goals per game, and the goalie not give up 4 goals on the eventual odd man rush's back your own way. then we could maybe see where the team could go..

Edmonton need more than a solid goalie if they wanted to play a run and gun style... not only do they lack the talent to do so, they would need a goalie used to that... maybe they should find out what dan cloutier is doing :P

I could go on a Rex-esque rant on how I don't need to be worried about that. But I won't - No luck needed. I'll keep you posted while you're out golfing.
