The Edmonton Oilers have re-signed defensemen Niclas Havelid to a one year deal. This was the Oilers first signing of the UFA period and their last.
"It was ridiculous. We were outbid on everyone except Niclas who we made a priority from the beggining of UFA, we really wanted him back. He is a solid top four defensemen and a great shutdown guy. This is a solid move for our team." -- Commented GM Love.
