Best/Worst Signings

I didn't want to clutter the UFA board so I'm posting this here...

I know basicly everyone is way over paid, but relatively which signings do you like/dislike

Lets hear your thoughts...

Like:
Mathieu Dandenault signed by Nashville
2 years @ 750k
- versatile and fast

Craig Conroy signed by Nashville
2 years @ 3 million
- not bad, and he might have a good year with Iggy

Chris Osgood signed by Pittsburgh
2 years @ 6 million, 4 million SB
- One of the top goalies in the league

Jason Smith signed by St Louis
3 years @ 3.3 million, 4.95 million SB
- Solid on the blueline

Dislike:
Jocelyn Thibault signed by Nashville
2 years @ 2.2 million
- Seems pretty high for a backup (especially one with bad rates)

Sami Salo signed by Florida
2 years @ 4.5 million, 4.5 million SB
- Thats a big price to pay for a 2nd/3rd pairing D man

Georges Laraque signed by LA
1 year @ 2.5 million
- Georges is laughing all the way to the bank

I liked my contract for Smith as well... especially now with Ottawa, he'll get some big minutes on the pk...

craig conroy was another good deal...

i actually liked the salo deal too...

but laraque and osgood IMO weren't that great...

Best- Mathieu Dandenault signed by Nashville
2 years @ 750k
- Nice versitility and wicked salary..

Steven Reinprecht signed by Boston
4 years @ 2.5 million, 2 million sb

-if gets top 6 chance this is ok salary for 4 years.

Freddy Modin signed by Washington
3 years @ 2.9 million, 1.9 SB

-same as reinprecht..

Worst-
Keith Tkachuk signed by Pittsburgh
2 years @ 6 million, 4 million sb

- this salary is nuts for the rates and spot thachuk will be in for year 2 of that contract..

Jason Smith signed by St Louis
3 years @ 3.3 million, 4.95 million SB

-Smith at this salary for the rates he currently has is a big overpay imo. the cash SB was a big one aswell..

I think you can add my CuJo signing to the bad list. Definitely not a good contract, but I needed a backup goalie, had cap room, and would rather waste cash then give up a pick or another asset for a backup.

the 3 years for modin is overkill but for my squad he'll get good minutes and should produce ok!!

I really like the Schaefer signing I did for Anaheim. The guy has been a pretty consistent 40-50 point guy in the NHL. 4 years at $1.75 could prove to be a huge steal.....and even if he underperforms, he isn't a big Albatross at that salary.

Great year for Third Line Centers

Mike Sillinger signed by Pittsburgh
1 year @ 4 million, 2 million SB

Saku Koivu signed by NYI
2 years @ 10.5 million

Man, I wish I was a player agent making a % on that.

If Koivu is a third line centre I'd love to see who would be considerd a first or second line centre.

Stastny-Bergeron makes Backstrom a 3rd line Center, Koivu a 4th line Center and Williams a dude standing on the corner begging for money.

If those are real money and we are real GMs, a whole lot of us would have been fired already ;)
