also very important to notice BUFFALO's picks of jori lehtera, kristoffer berglund, colin long are all illegal all these three were picked in the 08 class with stamkos year players..
personally i think the CONSTANT TRYING TO CHEAPLY BEND RULES IS BRUTAL FROM A BOD MEMBER LUKE CMON DUDE DO U THINK KNOW ONE KNOWS THESE GUYS???? I HAD VARIOUS SMOKE BREAKS OR LOL do u realistically think everyone was going to miss this?? with trying to cheaply land Perron last yr i think you would have learned lesson i guess not.. Its pretty obvious to me all guys picked in the stamkos draft werent avaible for this brhl2 draft.. i think stripping the picks makes sense maybe its just me who is annoyed with repeat offense's
A ruling needs to be made by the powers that be. This is not a new rule. I caught his pick of tikhonov and Mike Murphy...but missed those ones obviously... My feeling is the picks should be removed. The rules should be the same for all. We have always gone by the rule that a player had to be property of an NHL team. Always. It should not be different this year. Just my 2 cents. jh devs
I whole-heartedly agree... In addition to forfeiting the picks, I think Luke should also be required to resign from the board. We cannot have members of the board of directors attempting to skirt the rules in this manner.

You're an idiot. I write down plays on a list from day 1. I wasn't trying to cheat anyone or anything. I have a mega excel sheet if you'd like to see and I just pick based off my ranking. THese players are listed BEFORE the nhl draft and as sly as I am, I don't actually know they are picked in the draft; I just know they are good.
I hope the league grows up and stops tossing daggers- I talked to Eric before Tikhonov to make sure it was okay- it was. I wasn't trying to slip it past anyone.
Like I said, these players have all been picked out since november, december, ect..I didn't know they were even selected since some are 87, 88.

I unfortunetly have to agree that the picks should be voided give him comp picks next year or what ever but the fact of the matter is it's a GM's job to know what players he can or can not take and it has always been a rule that you CAN'T take a player until he is property of an NHL team no matter how many times he is passed up by an NHL draft. I'm not asking for Luke to be removed from the BOD or even him completely lose the picks but it has always been known by every GM what the rule in regards to available players are.
Ignorence is not an excuse saying you don't know where or when they were picked just that you like them doesn't work.

if u have this great draft list wouldnt u be able to take time to add what yr they were drafted in so that u dont pick them brhl2? no u didnt its happened in consecutive drafts man i think its obvious ur trying to push the rules
Bryce's internet is still out, but he wanted me to relay the message that the league is aware of the situation. Expect a response from Eric tonight, or Bryce when he returns in 2 days.
However, please continue to argue on the message board as it entertains the hell out of me.

Long was eligible for this draft year. I put birthdates by the players names so that I know who's eligible and who isn't. I don't pay attention to the NHL draft past the 1st round or 2 and Flames picks until it comes time to do it in BRHL2.
Players with birthdays falling between Sept 16, 1988 and Sept 15, 1989 are eligible for the 2007 entry draft.
Colin Long's birthday is June 19, 1989 so he definitely was 2007 eligible.
Honestly I'm sorry if I bent or broke the rules and I know negligence isn't a very good excuse but it's the only one that can explain it and it's the truth. Tikhonov was a different case as he was passed over 2 years in a row and I discussed with Eric if a player experienced this if he was elgibile and he said yes before he ultimately said no when I picked him.
These aren't like 1st or 2nd round guys that are in the limelight, these are 5th, 6th, 7th rounders that slid under the radar and if 30 guys didnt catch it last night how am I to blame for not catchin it either?
Once again sorry for the error but it was an honest mistake based off of birthdates of these players.

Well, I suggest that you sort the players according to draft year, not birthdates, because birthdates mean nothing. And, apparently, this issue (or one very similar) came up last year so there should be no excuse for it to come up again. But, whatever, I'll live with whatever they higher ups decide.
