As much as I consider Ian a GM I have a great relationship with, that wasn't something I would get angry with.

If a GM says, yeah, if I can bring in a dman for next year, I will do that deal. If something comes up in the meantime, then that is generally tough tamales.

A deal is a deal when two guys agree "That is a deal." It isn't going back on a deal when it was conditional to begin with.

All I can say is that this league isn't for me.

Effective immediately, I am stepping down as GM of the Calgary Flames.

i fail to see where i took a shot at you... considering that most of my posts that concern you just involve me using something you've said in the past on the forums...

anyways, i'm getting a little tired of the shots going in between some of the gms here... i'm not sure if it's the money that's involved, but this year the shots of some of the gms to others are more extreme than any other league i've been in... if i didn't have 50 bucks tied up in this league with a team i think that could challenge, i would have resigned already... as it stands, i'm probably going to bow out next year...

i agree the g.m to g.m public battles is somethin that bothers some, so why take shots at me even if it is stuff from the past? it just encourages others to think its acceptable..

like i think the shots where everyone knows its a JOKE is ok. but the vicious battles are what bring the board activity to a stand still...

I have refrained from voicing my thoughts on couple topics hoping to avoid debates.. i think a more positive tone is needed for our board..

Unfortunately because we are on a message board, tone is taken completely out. Even a smiley face can be confusing as sometimes it's difficult to decifer between sarcasm and sincerity.

interesting..well...

either way

To Philly: Nikolai Kulemin, Tyler Kennedy, Jonas Hiller, Logan Couture, Janne Niskala, Daniel Girardi, Peter Prucha
To Buffalo: Scott Niedermeyer, Ian Cole, Philly 4th 09, Florida 4th 09', Florida 5th 09'

Sick return for Niedermayer. Though Cole could turn out to be a great one.

Well, considering I already have my money invested, I may as well stick it out for this year. So, I guess I'm still GM of the Flames hmm

Avs have finally dealt some depth in Ryan and Downie to land another proven leader both on and off the ice.
Marleau will start on the 3rd line taking on a more defensive role than he is used too, but will be weighed heavily on to add some balance and will see first and second line action as the management team sees fit.

"We were not happy to let Ryan go as we believe he still has the tools to be a big impact player in the league. He has not really got the breaks in his other league (NHL) , but when he does, watch out...Downie, on the other hand, is a complete bust. When he was on philly I was a big fan, but once his transfer slips came through, he was put on our wire too'

The av's were not happy to move their first, but are really hoping it will be a late rounder, and NJ will be giving them a high 2nd rounder, so the trade off is not that bad, but was needed to get the deal complete.

In the end, it's a deal the Avs were looking for , as we see ourselves as a legit contender for 3-5 years, and are hoping to make up for dealing youth by smart drafting.

NJ in my opinion has made a smart futures choice, as they are clearly taking the youth route and looking to be a contender in the future with Sheppard, Brule, Bernier, Johnson, Franson to name a few and Lunds in net.
