torres-cal 2nd 08 for SJ 1st-Sj 7th in 09

i really like this deal torres will fill perfect 3rd line spot with his IT and ST.
Also i look for him to have a bounce back year in CLB being on the top 2 lines and a PP unit..

forward lines look like
Kovalchuk 86- Heatley 83- Hemsky 78
Cole 79- Doan 82- Mueller 74
Schubert 73- Pahlsson 74- Torres 72

looking to fill in the 4th line Via ufa.. with 7 d-men starting tho only need two spots.

picking up reasoner in deal involving pick swap the team has added their 4th line center with his 78df reasoner should see PK time aswell and serve well in his job with the Thrashers..

two trades involving prospects from last nights draft.

First deal happened at draft between ATL-BOS

TO ATL-Drayson Bouwman- Simon Hjalmasson- and 1 million now. 1 million at all-star break
TO BOS- Jeff Finger- Stefan Legien

and then today day after draft Thrashers management felt bad not going BPA on their draft board when selecting Cade Fairchild. so in deal today they got the guy they had tops on their board but felt would fall..

TO ATL- Mike Lundin
TO ANA- Cade Fairchild
--------------------------------------------------------------

The team is very excited about both moves Bouwman was a guy the team had targetted and was going to take in round one 28ov but moved down couple days before draft to 3rd pik in 2nd round. and thought theyd get him. bryce however took him 2nd pick 3rd round so i had to work out something and pick his guy Jeff Finger next..

With the Lundin swap lundin is a someone the ATL brass is very high on after watching him play last yr and be selected for the NHL-YoungStars game. http://www.sportscity.com/NHL/2008-NHL-YoungStars-Rosters/

Looks like Kirk moved Legein at the right time...apparently he just quit hockey. I guess he's still young and could change his mind (ala Daniel Ryder) but it's still strange.

in what was eventful night for Thrashers team made two deals. in the end this is what happened from the thrashers standpoint

Leaving Atlanta- Mike Lundin-Tj Brennan-Shane Doan, Bos 7th, 750k
coming to town- Temu Selanne- W.Wolski- Clb 2nd.

we are excited about bring in two roster guys and still coming out dropping around 250k.. we didnt like to see brennan or lundin go as we like both but we love selanne's cheap contract and wolski's potential..

also losing doan at C really does hurt now that Heatley is a winger again..

we are looking to move a winger for a center now though to complete our roster.

i'm jealous cause i was told when i first traded lucic that he was a big part of their team and would stay there.. then was told again on his 2nd trade that he would not be going anywhere and now he has landed in Anaheim.... 4 teams in like 8 days... insane!!!
