Actually, don't make it seem better than it was.

21st and 24th for Timonen and 59th.

21st and 24th for a UFA and 59th is still an AMAZING deal for you! and while Hannan is not an 80OV player (hey Bryce what do you think OV means again?) he is still an RFA not a UFA!!

What Bryce thinks of OV doesn't matter. Look at the individual ratings of the two players and the inference would be the same. Hannan has a very good DF rating. Everything else is average. I like him, he is a good player. Heck, I might be inclined to make a play for him. ;)

Timonen could be a difference maker. Just like Hossa last year in the NHL, Timonen can be the difference between one round and three or four in the playoffs.

I am happy with the return or I wouldn't have made the deal. (And the only reason I did is that our top 6 without him is great anyways.)

You can defend it all you want but no matter what its an overpayment for a UFA and I doubt there are many GM's that would see it other wise!

(And I've heard rumours that upto 4 GM's have asked about Hannan in the last 24hrs!)

though acquiring shattenkirk, are you sure you're not trying to find an outlet for subconscious feelings?

And he's already back

To Chicago: Kimmo Timonen
To Tampa: Torrey Mitchell, Rob Schremp, Hal Gill

To Toronto: Kimmo Timonen, CHI 2nd

To Chicago: TOR 1st, SJ 1st

so chicago does mitchell-schremp-gill ufa- late late 2nd for two first hmm still seems like killer deal to me, especially after looking up what u gave up to get timmonen..

wonder why tampa as a rebuilder would have not shopped timmonen more to make sure teams werent offering 2 1sts for him

Wow Kirk, seems like you choked down some bitter pills because I didnt deal Timonen to you..........and your post at this point in time appears to be totally out of bitterness becasue you didnt like my reply on your offer for Brian Campbell. Funny coming from you considering that you traditionally you rub people the wrong way and I have long been an someone in this circle who has stuck up for you, and you know it.

I had Timmonen available long before I dealt him and I had several offers, none of which consisted of 2 first rounders. I have a job, and a wife, and a kid and dont have time to go to every team individually and inquire if they are giving up 2 first rounders. George got that offer, good for him.

I know both Schremp and Mitchell are risks (for different reasons) but I happen to like both players. They also still have more upside than the players I was being offered elsewhere even if they also have high bust factors (mitchell only becasue of his injury). Gill also has a great rating and was subsequently dealt which was the plan with him from the start, he was a big part of me getting Kotalik. Kotalik may not be a star but he is a solid player that will help this team going forward.
