Nice job bryce on the ottawa deal. I think it was a good time to get emery and bad time to get bryz. The 1st was just gravy.

Chicago trades Brett Clark and $3 million in cash to St. Louis for STL 1st in 2009.

really like this trade for george.. with colorado's youth coming up on defense i dont see clark getting the minutes he has past couple years..

i trade one of my valuable youth pieces, but i need another guy who can play both on the PP and PK... clark fits... 3 mill in cash helps me with the signing bonuses in free agency and if my team sucks (which I doubt it will do) then i get another pick...

Atlanta got a first for Carlo Colaiacovo. More glass than Havlat.

Unreal good deal for Kirk....

that was 28th ov this yr.. and carlo has potential still and can be on pitts team for a long time, clark is ufa next yr.. and the 09 draft class is alot stronger in general opinion than this yr,, plus no offense to gareth but i think its unlikely he will be picking 28th..

i agree i got good value for carlo but he has useable ratings and a *potential* for solid career.

deals are similar tho with a nhler moving for a pick..

Clark, 2 seasons, three with a tag.  Colaiacovo...let's talk about how many games per season he has played...

1999-00 Erie Otters OHL  52
2000-01 Erie Otters OHL  62
2001-02 Erie Otters OHL  60
2002-03 Toronto Maple Leafs NHL  2
2002-03 Erie Otters OHL  35
2003-04 St. John's Maple Leafs AHL  62
2003-04 Toronto Maple Leafs NHL   2
2004-05 St. John's Maple Leafs AHL  49
2005-06 Toronto Maple Leafs NHL  21
2005-06 Toronto Marlies AHL  14
2006-07 Toronto Maple Leafs NHL  48
2006-07 Toronto Marlies AHL    5

2007-08 Toronto Maple Leafs NHL  28
2007-08 Toronto Marlies AHL    2

53 games max in the last 4 seasons.(Including a 30 last year, 35 in 05-06)  A whopping 64 the year before, preceded by a nice spanky 37 game season.

I wasn't trying to compare my trade for a first to yours, but Clark with three seasons is infinitely more valuable than a 25 year old "prospect" that averages 40 games a season.

Now let's get into something we can both sink our teeth into....

Boston trades Matt Greene to Floridafor Eric Perrin, 32nd OV, and a 7th in 2009

Greene sucks horribly.  The fact that he got a good rated Perrin and just outside the first round for him is an undeniable steal.  Nice work Bryce....bye bye Mancrush.  ;)
