Theres no shortage of quality UFA's so don't you worry your noble little head. We all know you only have the best interests at heart for the other GM's.
LOL, Glen Murray a "quality" UFA?
Just kiddin, I agree there are still enough guys around, lets not all get our panties in a bunch.
Oh and you forgot Jaromir Jagr.

My full endorsement to assist incoming GMs taking over teams.
I would even consider a future rule that if under the commish's advisement that a dispersal isn't that strong in talent to allow dispersal teams two year tags of these UFAs.
i agree year 2 GMs are getting a bit shafted here...
also, i think the players that were "tagged" by their respective clubs should have no restrictions on thier contracts.. The so-called no-movement clauses hamper them from getting a return of young prospects or young NHLers.. I completely like the rule as is for current GMs, but I feel the new GMs should be able to waive the no-movement portion of the rule...
thanks..

You're 100% right Bryce. I'd never argue that point. You're in tough spot and we realize that. You have to do what's best on a whole and not as individuals. This stuff always happens and that's why we'll just adjust to it and hopefully it'll all work out. You guys do a great job and we all have to remember this, it's all for fun. 50$ isn't going to break me so oh well, live with it...lol
By the way though, to all the Kirk haters out there, I find it curious that some people bash him on this argument. If anything, he shouldn't care about this because his team is set. He's looking out for us little guys....LOL. So good on you Kirk, Champion of the small market club! It's all for the good of the league so I think more power to him.
Marc Columbus.
Kirk looking out for you? Kirk would trade you Hemsky laying on life support in Edmonton for a first round pick before you heard the news on TSN.
Kirk traded down his payroll to be active in UFA...don't kid yourself.
kirks payroll is currently 48.6 mill after rfa dont kid urself george my big 1.4 mill cap space isnt going to be any kind of factor in UFA.. ps maybe u should re-type ur comment bashing me a good board MOD would if our board mod was still around..

I strongly agree with being able to trade "tagged" players that were acquired in the dispersal draft without suffering any penalties. Otherwise these "assets" arent really assets but just filler players to give the GM a year to slowly build up a real asset pool.

why are we trying to spoon feed these new g.m's?? like Clb said before he took over a team with 4 players under contract and took them to the conference finals....
Wanna flip Eric teams? Until you take over a train wreck team, and understand what its like to build up a team from crap in a PAY league, shut your piehole.
nylander and bertuzzi should be both tagged.. i wrote an email during the season saying my wish to tag them.. however you said wait till the end of the year... and i did.. please tell me this was an error on your behalf

To make a quick comment about this looking over my roster I also have Marleau on a 1 year deal who will be a UFA next year. Next year I won't have a Lemueix tag to use since you only get one every 2 years. Therefore the free agent pool next year will get all these tagged players + unless some trades are made.
Even though I picked Boyle maybe it is in my best interest not to use the tag and leave him be a UFA and persue him on a 3 or 4 year deal worth big money on the free agent market and then have my tag left for Marleau?
Just something else to throw out there to think about and for other dispersal GM's. Who ever took Kiprusoff this would maybe be the best option. Since my team isn't the best I think keeping Boyle at a decent contract and trading him for assets is probably in my best interest but the other option is something that a guy has to think about.
rumpy ur off on the tags.. u can tag boyle the year (still yr 2 offseason, yr 3 doesnt start till preseason) and u would have choice to re-tag boyle or marleau next year.. but then couldnt tag either (or anyone) for the 4th season of games..
guys like boyle-R.Whitney-r.brindamour can be tagged for 2 yrs as the tagging option transfer's yr 1-2 to yr 3-4 but guys like marleau-brodeur-doan can only be tagged once as their contracts r up in yr 3, so i can tag doan but then for yr 4 i wouldnt have a tag as i used it in yr 3...
