Game 1- Atlanta will take the momentum from the last series win over a powerhouse team and carry it into the pivotal game 1 on Thursday May 22nd stealing a 4-2 win. Hemsky-Jokinen-Heatley-Jokinen is the scoring for the thrashers against marty. Was it rust from to much time off for the number #1 Sabres???
Game 2- marty answer back and steals a double OT 2-1 win..
Game 3- First game back in Atlanta, Thrashers dominate chasing Marty mid 2nd period with a 7-3 smashing of the Sabres.
Game 4- Thrashers continue hot play with 3-1 win.
Game 5- Sabres respond on home ice with 4-0 shutout.
Game 6- Fearing another road trip back to Buffalo, Ales Hemsky dominate in a 4-1 win with 2g 2as. Silencing ALLL HIS CRITICS. Thrashers win and go on to face the BlackHawks...
Thanx luke it has been a tough battle so far biggest goal difference in any game has been 3 goals. which is mild to some of the stompings george put on Columbus.
With the game one mess the sabres took advantage beating us 5-2.. game 2-3-4 saw atlanta wins 4-1, 3-1, 3-2.. So far the crosby show has been sickening though haha he was in on all 8 of your teams goals, until he got ejected for injuring dany heatley in game four early in the 2nd period and iginla scored in game 4 late 2nd as the only goal crosby hasnt been in on..
Atlanta's G.M had this to say about the series so far, "we are really happy about the way the team bounced back after game one, The PK has really stepped up the last two games for us shutting down the Sabres vaunted PP 12 straight times. So far this series we have only given up 2 PP goals in 20 odd man advantages for the Sabres. "
He then added this gem of a little to much information.. "We havent been able to stop Sid the Kid at ALLLL this series he has run wild against our team and we cant expect to shut him out completely but we need to keep him from dominating a game like he did in game one with his 5 point night.. We dont know if we can do that though his line-mate IS Jerome Iginla (5 goals in 4 games), it honestly makes me wet my pants everytime those two are on the ice together im so nervous in the press box, i go through like 3 pairs of pants a game because i come out of the press box during intermission to sign autographs for the fans in Atlanta."
When asked about the possibilty of the league moving the game 5 date up to friday less than 24 hrs after the teams game 4 win the G.M had this to say, "As long as we get a days rest from the league we feel like we could play tommorow in Buffalo, but if we cant get a rest day to try and heal up Dany Heatley who is day-to-day then we will wait until the normal gameday is."
Before another question could be asked G.M Shuck said this, "We know the 4th game is the toughest to win and we need to have our best effort of the season against the Sabres (hopefully) tommorow, and before any of the people start asking question about the possibility of the match-up against Chicago we want everyone to know that we feel like were down 3-1 with the line-up the sabres have and the season they had its proven they can win three in a row no problem. However I do still have confidence in the system's we work, the toughness to intimidate we have, and the heart of a champion which our team does have and i would take over any other teams in this league."
Well..All I can say it is hurts real bad..hah It was a sour end to a great year though. I would have really liked to face George in the finals as I think on paper at least we have the best teams but sometimes the sim disagrees. I outshot ATL every game but 1 and have what I think is the better goaltender but Lundqvist just stood on his head.
Down 1-3, knowing Brodeur has 0 shot at beating a healthy ATL 2 more times at 99 (as he was 0-3 under 100 health) I decided to start Josh Harding. A bold move that almost paid off after making 29 saves and 9 in OT. It would have solidified Marty at 100 for the remaining 2 games. But with some luck involved, it wasn't to be.
I would like to say, thanks to all the GM's this year on a great season in BRHL season 2. Congratulations Kirk on beating the mighty Sabres, and good luck to both Chicago and ATL in the Cup finals.
I will see you all at the draft; i'm looking forward to it.
Until next year, Luke

Congrats to Kirk on the win and Luke on a great season. I think we were all bottom third last year. We are looking forward to a good series and a hard fought finals with the Thrashers.
