1. Roberto Luongo - 4-1, shutout, 1.90 GAA, .932 SV% - Posting numbers that any potential playoff team should be afraid of, Luongo won this series for the Flyers just as I predicted. Even in the 11-0 rout of the Rangers, Luongo started off a play that ended up in a goal and added an assist.
2. Ryan Whitney - 2 goals, 5 assists, +2, 1 PP goal, 1 SH goal, 1 game winner - The young defender was second only to Niedermayer in scoring for all defensemen, but his play in special teams give him the edge over Niedermayer in the three stars. Whitney has shown remarkable maturity in the playoffs and shown why GM Leak was so determined to keep him from any potential trades.
3. Ray Whitney - 5 goals, 3 assists, 2 powerplay goals, 1 game winner - The extra consonant in the name was the only difference between the two players as Ray put up the same terrific display as Ryan did. Ray's 5 goals led all players in the series and his 2 powerplay markers was only matched by three other players.
Scapegoat of the Series
New York's penalty kill was exploited time after time throughout this series and in the final game was pathetic as the Philly powerplay went 3 for 5.
