Flames

Holy **** I was just looking at the flames salary structure for next year and they have 47.825 mil locked up for 12 frieking players!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kipper

Phaneuf
Regehr
Sarich
Aucoin
Warrener
Eriksson

iginla
Tanguay
Lombardi
Nilson
W. Primeau

Needless to say they are gonna need to move Aucoin, Warrener, Sarich or all 3 if they want to be able to fit a decent NHL team around those star players...

with Nolan, Langkow, Huselius, Conroy, and Yelle all UFA's... and want more money (langkow and huselius)

the flames are in dire straights looking ahead IMO...

that is a lot of money guaranteed to only 12 roster spots...

If you're counting for how much ownership is going to have to fork over then yeah you might be right, I didnt check that, but if you were talking cap hit then I dont know where you got your numbers. Here's the actual situation...

Iginla - 7
Tanguay - 5.25
Kiprusoff - 5.83
Phaneuf - 6.5
Regehr - 4.02
Sarich - 3.6
Aucoin - 4.0
Warrener - 2.5
Eriksson - 1.5
Lombardi - 1.811,667
Nilson - 1.0
Primeau 1.4
-----------------
Total - 44.411667 compared to your 47.825. Thats 8 million to sign two 2nd liners a couple 3rd liners and bottom pairing dmen. Easily doable. Not to mention Warrener's salary could easily be off our cap hit because he's hurt almost all year.

Only players I dont think are pulling their salary: Warrener, Nilson, Sarich and maybe Tanguay should be a mill cheaper.

Looks like you might have some AHL talent next year filling some holes.

About time. Nystrom, and Prust should both be full time NHLers. Dustin Boyd has been up more this year but he could be one too.

And you mean HELLO QUAD CITY :D

ok, i see what your saying off nhlscap.com

i thought kippers number was 8.5 mil for next year because i clicked on players salaries instead of the cap hit...

either way, they are looking at a tough time making the playoffs next year wouldnt you agree?

Who knows. Tons can change in even just 1 season. I mean the Oilers were in the cup finals two years ago and followed it up with a performance that saw them miss the playoffs the following year :p

i agree the depth of the flames will be their fault next year.. but isnt chucko going to dominate anytime soon?? hahaha

anywho like eric said in other thread when u have 3 franchise players (one at each level) u can contend for 7-10 every year..
