Clearly wasn't an innocent play. He knew exactly what he was doing and deserved the 8

Give me a break, that was far from an innocent play.  I thought Oiler fans all hated Pronger!

Does it matter? Is the point of the suspension to prevent Pronger from intentionally hurting someone? He has proven time and time again that his brain does not work in that way.... he has a short fuse and he will do something stupid again. I don't have a solution these guys that cannot help themselves (Simon and Pronger are both the same), but let's just hope someone doesnt get a career ending injury or killed by one of these guys before they retire....

I agree. However, I don't paint Pronger with the same brush as Chris Simon (this era's Gino Odjick). I think that Pronger is a fierce player, who does try to hurt people with contact. But, so far he's done well keeping it within the rules of the game.

Personally, I think this suspension helped Pronger more than it hurt. IMO, they should've (or if this was even possible) to start the suspension at the begining of the playoffs. All this has done is give him a nice rest for a cup run.

The guy is a dirty piece of **** Eric.  He isn't a roid rage idiot like Simon, but he doesn't have a shot at the Lady Byng any time soon.
