Oops, yeah that is what I meant. Remember if we make it rounded to the nearest 10K that it wont ever be more than 5000 dollars one way or another, a small amount.

One other question.....for players that are still on their entry level contracts, if they sign over the summer, will their new contract be based upon their current OV rating or next years?
nitpicky I know, but I am planning for next year, so it is good to have an idea of my salaries.
depending when you sign em, thats when their OV is based upon. Basically if you sign them before the cup finals (in BRHL) it will beon this yars ratings. if you wait till after, it will be on those OV's. So definetely a strategy either way.
I will round up/down to to nearest 000 to kee things cleaner.
Vanek's contract is going to be a monster! Will Ian sign him, or will he be heading out of Detroit for compensation??
Vanek will remain in Detroit for the near future. The only thing you have to worry about Vanek is spelling his name right on the Stanley Cup this offseason.
As I have it figured out, I can resign all of my RFA's, and tag Osgood, and still be well under the new cap. Plus, I have 3 good buyout options, that could shave over $7million from my cap number if I choose.

Click on team numbers and it shows the cap hit in one of the columns.
Teams in the NHL can front and back load contracts when we cant so we have to take the average, its only fair because that is actually what they would be getting paid.

Quick disclaimer 0 This next rant is not based at any questions above or any that come on here, asking questions is enoucraged so you understand
Disclaimer is now over.
IF YOU ARE TO LAZY OR STUPID TO READ THE RULES YOU WILL BE FINED, IM NOT HERE TO BABYSIT YOUR OFFERS, IF YOU SUBMIT MORE THAN 3 OFFERS, DONT USE THE SPREADSHEET ETC, I'LL JUST FINE YOUR TEAM.
Errors with happen, you may use the wrong salary figure (though if you use nhlscap.com it won't happen). Im not ticked at those yet. But when I get a list of 10 rfa's you wanna sign mostly to 5 year deals, and not using the spreadsheet at all, well its a little frustrating.
1- correct 2 - incorrect, use their new age (if he's 30 then use 29 for the formula to work. 3 - correct (if they dont have a deal, you have to wait until they sign one)
confirmed each team gets two 5 year deals, and two 4 year deals.
