Well I disagree....the incessant bitching is gone...lots of guys online..lots of trade talk. So we lose Jay's articles.....small trade off.
not trying to start conflict but i think the reason their is no bitching anymore is because alot of people just stopped trying to look for things to help improve small areas of the league because it fell on deaf ears.. just one person's opinions.. like one example is the rfa resignings is it honestly reasonable to be at the all-star break and not one person have had a chance to go into rfa talks with their players?? i pointed it out a week into the season and then like 2 weeks after that.. this still hasnt been solved...again this is just an example but i dont think it is soley past g.ms fault their isnt bitching anymore.
lol, actually i'm enjoying the league a lot more because of the decrease of semi-offensive comments being posted... in every one of the leagues i was in, there seemed to be a higher level of censorship when it came to posting offensive comments towards a GM...
in sim leagues, i would rather be under a dictatorship than have the freedom of speech....
Active trader????? Are you kidding where/when? I never see the Devils making deals. We need more board talk from ya Devs. You agree???? I cant speak for everyone but I like ya and would personally like to hear your insight on the brhl2 and nhl scoop. Dont get pissed at me, i'm just being honest, it makes for a better league with everyone involved. -Joe NYRGM
Active board participation is a nice asset to have as a GM. However, the most active GMs can be the "deceptively active GMs" who do it behind the scenes. Sending in lines (when needed) and prompt responses to league matters are the main aspects that matter to me as a Commish.
I'd love to have a super-active league, and sometimes FHL leagues can be like that. However, I'll take knowledgeable over activity anyday. (This is not a slight to anyone who has posted their opinion in this thread, prior) But, people do have lives. I'm not looking for an end of the world committment, just the adequate participation that most GMs here seem to display.
I don't think that GMs should feel heavy pressure to keep up with some of the board posting stats, or be constantly active on ICQ. If you are, great. It makes me feel good that you're enjoying what I'm doing for you guys. But, I'm not expecting all GMs to act the same.
"To each, his own."
In regards to a more specific question about Jordan's participation. Call it a valid excuse, but he is on a different time schedule than most here by living in Australia. Most of the times I've talked to him is very early in the morning before he's off to playing doctor.
