I do not wish to bash anybody and this should not be considered this cause I know what a time consuming job being a commish can be. However since we pay to be in this league I do have some concerns over the lack of updates and normal protocol in areas that are normally looked after. Minor Leagues are one but I also noticed the Trade Transactions have not been updated since the trade deadline of last season. I do not understand why this is not regularily updated. The Minor Leagues are important to me maybe not to all but definately for me so a coincidence of both leagues running every night in my opinion are imperative.
My concern is I have been in lots of leagues as I sure most here have and the first thing that always goes when a league is on the verge of extinction is lack of interest by the commishes to update all areas of the league including regular updates for league games. This has not been a problem here but another league we all play in the BRHL is showing signs of this which is why I mentioned it. Another red flag is when commishes become scarce. Although Eric is fairly regular my understanding is Bryce is the main commish but he is almost never available.
Bottom line here is simple, league is great league, gms are tough but for the most part active and spirited, ( in some cases a bit much ) but the lack of quality updates in certain areas of importance raise red flags and unlike a normal league where if the league folds it's OH WELL **** HAPPENS ! There is money involved here and I want to see more commitment from our commishes.
You guys started the league ! You guys made the commitment !
We made the financial commitment !!
Lets get it goin guys !!!!
If you need help in these areas please ask I am sure there are quite a few on here who can designate some time to keeping the site tops in the FHL

sure their are yes things that could be updated more often, (the trade form, draft history for 07 entry) but to complain about a lack of updates on your 150th post in over a year and a halfs time shows ur not too active urself no?
eric has put and insane amount of time into this league and i know that because everytime i e-mail in a roster change or something like that it is always taken care of pretty quickly..
bryce has yes been not active for a couple months but with him moving from edmonton to a small town near where we grew up and setting up a house and a lot to live on, this is a fairly reasonable excuse for being inactive, he still checks the league but yes their has been a lack of activity from him due to him not having the internet set up at his new home yet and only being able to check from a work computer..
Not being an ass pittsburg but if you think ANY commish would tire themselves out personally (thus effecting their REAL LIFE) over mine or yours 50 bucks i think u need to give ur head a shake. sure id like to see the site updated 3-5 times a day myself but im pretty sure it wont happen.. could the league pass on some of these tasks to other g.m's yes and i think that if u want to help out u could have simply e-mailed the commish's saying u wanted to look after the trade history section or something like that.

I was frighten this would happen so let me restate myself a little clearer for those who need it. THIS IS NOT TO CRITISIZE THE JOB AT HAND NOR THE COMMISHES STRAIGHT OUT BUT SIMPLAY A NOTE OF CONCERN !
I in no way want to stir the pot, I have no problems with Eric or Bryce on a personal note. I am merely stating the obvious and wanted to try to push start this league somewhat to getting back to where it should be when we first started out. Being a pay league this is expected. And Kirk just to address my unavailability as far as you are concerned., the only one I am not available too is you. I intentionally ignore you on ICQ because of your flagrant pestering after a solid "NO"! has been reached. I will talk to you on a deal if I need to, otherwise email me and I will answer you there. I otherwise never disregard anyones ICQ or Email to me and even answer any PM's even though it is not my personal choice of communications. Also I am on the site everyday, sometimes multiple times. I constantly am looking to make moves but unlike you Kirk I am not a trade monger. I think 150 posts in just over a season is pretty good cause I generally put up quality posts.
Back to what I wrote, all I am asking is for our Commishes to get the areas that have been slacking up and going again. I know they have a life and I know it takes presedent, but when you start a league you make a commitment to every player in that league and don't think it is much to ask for steady simming steady updates in all areas and better availability by all in charge. Do You ?

I dont mind them skipping some parts but would appreciate a heads up when doing so. No biggie. Ive come to trust and know that Eric and Bryce both have a strong work ethic and will get things done in due time. No concerns in Buffalo.
(Most) people have real lives and have jobs where they earn real money. Bryce and Eric are doing a heck of a job with the league and they don't earn a cent from it. They do it out of the enjoyment that they get from it. The complaining and infighting probably takes a lot of that enjoyment away.
So... Quit the complaining or get out...

Your right Anaheim the alternative is there so since it is obvious that I am the only one who really cares that this league is up to snuff I will do the honourable thing and resign at the end of this season. I hate the infighting between most of you clowns anyhow and god forbid someone say something constructive in this league.

Anaheim is right with the sentiment that dealing with inter GM issues causes burnout. Personally, having taken two full shots at putting a league together, it is always lost because of the GM issues, whether it be complaints, arguing, activity or even the revolving door of recruitment.
That is the burnout factor.
What I don't agree with is the "Quit the complaining."
We have to be able to question reasonably, in a non argumentative manner, and objectively look at all facets of the league.
I agree that Bryce isn't around much. Would like to see more of him. It could be that simple.
Other than that, everything is reasonably smooth...or as smooth as it can be with the dynamics that we carry.
eric has put an insane amount of time into this league and i know that because everytime i e-mail in a roster change or something like that it is always taken care of pretty quickly..

Rod i had not intended for my comment to spark anger in yourself..
I talked to eric today text message buggin him about how he was scared to sim because we played. he said, "ended up falling asleep because im a loser" so thats the reasont their was no sim for people who were wonderring commish is a loser
also i stopped and saw bryce when he was at work today and was bugging him as we work in the same town now. (he travels alot though so not to often) i went and talked to him to bug him how hes never on the messageboard anymore while hes at work like usual and he informs me that the software on the computer register's site's after extended use and then blocks them as it is a computer site so he isnt able to see the boards or have icq contact right now.. his new house is getting internet sometime this week so he will be on as usual after that, he want me to inform u all of this.
I agree and disagree with many points on both sides of these arguments. The most important thing I could see improved is the communication. I think most GMs (if not all) would be much more understanding if more regular updates were given when things do not go as planned. Maybe a thread with updates from commishes? (ie. Farm league expected to start soon, I am moving and expect to be settled next week.. or: May be a late sim or no sim at all tonight, stuck at work late). I think some of these updates are given, but more frequent updates would help. Everyone realizes that many other things in life take priority, but I do not think it is too much to ask for a 20 second update when things come up.
""In light of recent posts on the board, none of which I really found out of line, or in bad taste, please accept this message on my behalf as an apology of sorts.
I have recently moved out to the area where I grew up and out of Edmonton. In that time our internet was supposed to have been hooked up, and quite obviously I have had a delay with that. We should be hooked up early next week at the earliest, which will have my activity return to normal.
In addition to moving weve been renovating our place and much of my free time when I am not at work has been preoccupied with that, and while I can view the board from work, I cannot post on the messageboard due to our companies firewall.
The league is still as dedicated as ever, but occasionally life does interfere. As I have stated from the beginning I do not have time to be a regular simmer (which is why the BRHL hasnt been simmed by me in about 5 or 6 years) Heck I couldnt even keep up the minors last season when running it. I do have some stuff done for the minors and am working to get it kicked off, and I know we had a few good applicants for the minors commish that I will contact once I have it set up so it can run smoothly.
Again, I have no issue with the way that Rod voiced his concern, though I really dont have many concerns with the responses, and appreciate the voices of commitment from everyone. We are NOT a short term league, and yes everyone has paid to be in it, BUT ultimately real-life does interfere from time to time.
I appreciate everyones passion for the league, and the dedication many of the GMs have, I assure you the commishes have as much, though more likely even more commitment to the league, especially considering the hours we have put into it.""
