We will take the credit for him....here is a recap of Round 22 in the original draft...

St. Louis Stephane Robidas
NYI Ben Clymer
Montreal Andreas Lilja
Los Angeles Matt Bradley
Toronto Evan McGrath
New Jersey
Washington Nolan Yonkman
Colorado Jiri Slegr
Columbus Keith Carney
Minnesota Brett McLean
NYR Branko Radijevic
Nashville Sean O'Donnell
Vancouver Sean Burke
Anaheim Jaroslav Balastik
Tampa Bay Jon Sim
Carolina Konstantin Pushkarev
Calgary Niklas Hagman
Ottawa Glen Wesley
Dallas Darryl Sydor
Phoenix Kevin Dallman
Detroit Alexei Emelin
Florida George Laraque
Buffalo Perttu Lingren
Boston Jason Bacashihua
Atlanta Wayne Primeau
Pittsburgh Steffan Kronwall
Chicago Paul Stastny
Edmonton
Philadelphia Steve Rucchin
Tampa Bay Nolan Schaefer

And sure, it would be nice to have him, but with him, we ended up with a top 5 pick and flipped those picks into Lecavalier, and other top players.wink

I took Kronwall before him !!!! ????    FIRE THE GM and ALL SCOUTING STAFF !!!!

bah, stastny was a fluke. Nothing of his career prior to the last season and the start of this year would suggest he could do what he is doing right now.

He just a late bloomer. He was drafted 2 years after his first eligibility.

Nice pick nonetheless, but I don't think that anyone can claim having great scouting prowess for that pick.

Holy. Its crazy how many guys are off to really hot streaks. These streaks are common at the start of the year, but they always make you wonder if these guys are capable of having seasons where they get 120 or so pts. That whole OTT line is unreal as usual. Sundin is off to a hot start. Stastny too. Interesting for sure.

A lot of the guys off to big starts won't keep it up. This always happens and everyone goes crazy about them.

haha yeah I know, injuries, fatigue, bad defense resulting in less ice time usually catches up to them. Still fun to kinda wish/hope :)

Yeah thats true. Its a good pick, but you gotta admit that hes completely over exceeded EVERY expectation thus far I would think. Dont you agree? I just hope we get real lucky with one of our picks :O)

Actually, I didn't think Calder...I thought 40 points and then developing.  But sometimes you hit paydirt.

After a slow start it appears Ladislav nagy has finally put things together with a 1 goal 2 assist night. Now, with 7 points in 8 games with the Kings- it looks like the line of Frolov, Osullivan, Nagy is finally clicking.

Also, Toews added another goal and remains to have an NHL game without a point.

Man, when was the last time that a goalie gave up 1 goal in 2 games and lost both? Welcome to the world of Henrik Lundqvist and the Rags, who lost back to back 1-0 games, one of them in a shootout. For Lundqvist, 124 minutes, 1 goal, no wins. Sheesh. Glad to see Drury and Gomez are paying dividends and boosting the offense.

It's only a matter of time before this team starts scoring.

I was never a fan of the Gomez signing. He just doesn't fit in with the team, especially Jagr. I think they should have just signed Drury, who is a great fit, and have then spent the rest on a D man or nothing. That being said, Drury and Gomez may have said we are a package so that could be why they got both.
