The Sabres are happy to see Cory Murphy score a goal and an assist for the Panthers last night in his debut in the NHL. He looks to be ready to compete as a top 6 dman for this team.
Olli Jokinen also scored a goal and an assist for the Panthers.
Erik Johnson skated for over 20 minutes for St.Louis.
Tonight we'll see a bit more of what Kristopher Letang can offer when him, Crosby and the Pens play in Montreal tonight.
My point is... Preseason means nothing in determining who "is ready to be a top 6 dman" etc... I love it when people project actual NHL futures based on preseason play... hilarious....
Also, sorry to be a downer for a change. Probably only so much of these message boards I can take before I feel the need to fire one of the millions of negative comments flowing through my brain....
Hey Wildjamie, maybe if this thread title was "preseason-leading-into-the-regular-season-predictions" thread then you could come and say what you just did and have a point.

so when bergeron was dominating camp and did well in preseason in 2003 it meant "nothing"?

lol... yeah, thats what I am saying. For your one example I can find at least 20 that are the opposite....

obviously, kahnberg, jon sim, rob globke etc etc. but to say preseason is completely meaningless is silly.
As a Leaf fan I was looking forward to seeing Kulemin play after what I've seen of him online and from what I've read from scouts. He wasn't playing either way this year but was suppose to come for training camp.
Excited to see what will happen in the east, especially with NYR and PHI. Both teams really added to their roster and should be exciting to watch.
In the West I want to see how Anaheim fairs without Scott and now Schneider.
