One week after UFA began Vancouver landed the big names they wanted too this offseason. The team is now in position to make the postseason and with a few trades during the season can compete for the cup.
Vancouver signed Jaromir jagr to a 2 year deal with a total of 27 million due. 6 million in signing bonuses along with 10.5 mil to the cap per year. One day after Jagr they laneded the best center money could buy. Joe sakic was also signed to the identical contract that Jagr signed. 5 days earlier they sigend argurably the best goalie out in the market, Dominik Hasek. Hasek sigend a 2 year deal totalling 12 million dollars.
The glaring weakness can be seen in the inexpierenced defense. Barker Vlasic and Burns should all take the next step in a season or 2 down the road but the Canucks need to win now and will be looking to add some defense help at the begining of the season or during the first few weeks.
3 stars Jagr, Hasek, and Sakic will take this team to the next level. How high we will just wait and see.
The sheer speed, passing and scoring of that trio is mind-boggling.
Unfortunately for you... the sim like reality works in 5-man units.
Your top pairing to play with them is Vlasic-Barker?

A 64 and 61 passer on the blueline. Barker should be bumped to the second unit and an offensive defenseman added to take full advantage of that top line: get the puck up ice to them! stimulate a transition game!
At some point help should be added. But it'll be darn interesting to see how those boys do on their own.
