In a move showing the price of UFA's was getting a bit crazy for even a cap room rich club in LA, the Kings acquired some times stud defenseman Ed Jovanovski.  Jovo cop brings a new 5 year deal to the team which is the stability the team was looking for in a player.  Eddie didn't have the best season in the NHL last year but he still brings excellent puck control and solid all around abilities to a team in need of another top end defenseman.  Jovo will join Timonen on the teams top pairing at this point and will help form a solid 1-2 PP punch.

Gone to New Jersey are a trio of solid assets.  Philly's 1st in the next draft as well as Cody Franson and recently drafted Leland Irving.  Franson is a nice defensive prospect but his development may be slowed by the glut of young defenseman the predators have already and if Kipper re-signs in Calgary, who knows when Irving may see the NHL. 

Also coming to LA were NJ's 3rd round pick this year and 2 million cash to help sign another free agent.
