The blues were pretty smart to give Recchi only a one year deal.
Sidney Crosby could play with two 50lbs sandbags around his waist, and the team could play a man down, and they would be better off than having Recchi play on his wing.
The pens have better wingers now, hopefully he isn't on one of the top two lines, unless as an injury replacement. I think he is rated 73OV next BRHL season, with most of that coming from high EX/LD numbers
Recchi is dead weight? only a third liner next season? not much powerplay time?
That is a HUGE gutsy prediction. Everything he has done, even at his age, has shown otherwise.
The great thing about this: we'll be able to check back next spring and see if you're right. (I dunno anyone else who thinks likewise. But I'm from Kamloops and I talk to hockey fans who follow him perhaps too closely. A sudden tanking in his career after such a long remarkably steady career seems unlikely, but time will tell)
Go ahead and bookmark it. He had 2 goals in the last 23 games last season, and none in the playoffs. He is another year older, and really started showing his age the second half of the season. Most of his points come of passing Sid or Malkin the puck and watching them score.

he also had a four-game point streak heading into the last week of the regualr season. He won't repeat 68 points? won't even get 60 points?
another major reason why i only signed recchi for a year is because i'll need to renegiotiate some big deals with other free agents.... not to mention, hopefully one of my guys will pick their game up this season and come through with a rating good enough for the top line...

even then... ESPECIALLY then, you'd have a very tradeable asset with a year left next summer if was on a 2-yr deal, and another team could pick him up from you and get a year out of him and tag him thereafter if they want.
one has to think Recchi will majorly re-rate downward, from 78 0v down below 75 ov, to think a 1 year deal is best for a veteran scorer who EVERY year produces and plays on a high-octane team with two great centres to play with and a long history as a heavily-used powerplay player
Spacek is looking forward to joining Zbynek Michalek on the Bruins third pairing for the upcoming season.
Definetely one of teh guys we targetted this season and he has alright stats this season, but really think he will bounce back in Buffalo next season and become more of the force he was for the Oilers during their cup season.

ahaha had nothing to do with playing with CP 44 hey bryce it was the jaro train lol this guy is a bumb why you think chicago ****CAGO was beggin for him to leave when klowe took him???? regier in buffalo will be GIVING him away within 2 years
I had a feeling that I would need to defend my Lidstrom signing..haha..its all good
Here are some reasons why I invested so much in Lidstrom.
Reason #1: Raycroft 77ov..he is my #1 goalie..since im vulnerable in nets, i needed a stalwart dman to help my young goalie out and limit scoring chances.
Reason #2: Leopold terrible rerate due to injury plagued nhl season, so Lidstrom will be expected to cover some of his minutes.
Reason #3: With Jack Johnson playing his first full NHL season, I only need Lidstrom for once season so as to give JJ some time to get a respectable rating and become a starter for me is Season 3.
Reason #4: I have a boatload of young star NHLers on 1 year deals, my priority is keeping them together and complimenting them with UFAs. If i was to give Lidstrom a multiyear deal, it would jeopardized my chances of keeping guys like Horton, Michalek, Parise etc...
In all honesty, I comfused Armstrong with another player. I was hoping someone would overbid me but it didn't happen. I probably spent 500,000 too much but in the end he isn't that bad of a 3rd liner.
You shouldnt have outbid us. 1.25M was about right, I was kinda irked when you did that haha. Oh well.

I think you're so very wrong, but thats my opinion. Im a pretty big fan of Spaceks and I think that whoever signed him got a bit of a deal.
can u imagine what the market would have been if jagr and sundin werent lost to cap rules last year.. thats like 27 million more to spread onto the other guys YIKES.
