the team has decided to put all world 83 overall d-man zdeno chara on the block. looking for a d-man 77ov + (not ufa at end of current contract unless its a 4 year deal, the same as chara's), and prospects/picks.

no interest in his salary!

especially before the UFA period where a Lidstrom can be picked up with no loss of assets

Wait until afterwards. His value will be greater as opening day approaches, cap room still exists for some teams and alternatives beciome limited.

thanx jay, i think ur probably right, ima take the advice and wait until after the free agency and watch lidstrom get 10 mill base salary a year.
