* might move Fedorov to first line LW under the Jokinen precedent
and thus would be interested in picking up a second-line centre;
might be in the market for a starting goalie, might not

XXXXX - Handzus - XXXXX

Tambellini and Mair are 66 OV and are at best temp call-ups.

Shanahan (81 ov) - Top Centre - RW
LW - Holik (72 ov) - RW
LW - C - Hall (70 ov)

Top Defender - Backman (73 ov)
Zidlicky (71 ov) - Oduya (71 ov)

With 29 million in cap room you should be able to fill your team's biggest needs.

Here is how things are shaping up in Anaheim. With roughly $20M to spend, we expect to fill 5 holes in our roster (although what we will be able to fill them with is up for argument).

Fisher - xxxxxx - xxxxxx
xxxxxx - Lombardi - xxxxxx
Upshall- Bonk - Sjostrom
Stajan - Boyes - Neil

xxxxxx - Kubina
Gill - Chelios
Colaiacovo - Meyer

Washington Capitals needs to compete:

Top LW - McDonald - Top RW
Stempniak - Stastny - Ribiero
3rd LW - Steen - Perry
Sejna/Fleischmann - Williams - 4th RW

Send to farm: Marjamaki 55 ov, Abid 62 ov, Clarkson 62 OV

Hainsey - Devries
2nd pair D - Wisniewski
Sauer - O'Brien

Send to farm: Allen 66 ov

Starting Goalie
Cloutier

Send to farm: Labarbera 12 OV

With less than 20 million in salary commitments, there's plenty of room to add UFAs to compete now, perhaps trading veterans away later in the year or in the next offseason. A team oriented toward youth can still add veterans to help them mature and strengthen the organization's asset base. A suggestion.

Also.. LA has a decent chunk of cash with around 24 million to spend in FA.. should be fun.
