"Theres also talk of creating more room at the end of the rink by making the nets more shallow, which would be accomplished by encouraging them to spend all their time listening to pop music and reading Twilight books."
(!) One of us wants clarity for consistency and fairness sake in the setting of a precedent we can count on (me), (2) one of us feels the rules are being inconsistently applied in their present loose interpretation (Rex), (3)one of us thinks a more strict interpretation in accordance with basic reasonableness and tradition is in order (George),(4) and one of us thinks the loose interpretation in the Jokinen case is contrary to the reality of the NHL (Kurt).
1. The precedent had been set with Bergeron last season, and will not change, you can add this to the precedent list.
2. They were not inconsistently applied, and all Rex has done is act like a clown and hasn't provided any link to back up his point, nor did he last season.
3. The only valid argument/complain in the bunch, but we are sticking to the way it was set up and has been addressed in the past.
4. Again invalid, if you're telling me the reality of teh NHL is that a team with Crosby-Kopitar-Jokinen wouldnt move one of them to the wing, you're insane. Add to the fact that the guy they moved has a reputable source referencing that he can play there, and this concern is off the wall.
I find it hilarious that this is as hot button as it is, I guess if this is the main worry then we're doing alright.
