Sidney Crosby is allowed to be the captain of the Buffalo Sabres.

C. No player 24 years or younger may be a captain or alternate unless documentation can be proven that he is one in the NHL.

Crosby is captain of the Penguins in the NHL. Any one who disagrees with the notion can interview his Coach Michel Therrien or teammates. Probably a few other NHL'ers as well.
