My team wants to compete for a playoff spot this season, so sacrificing the future required more than just d (hence my wanting a winger as well in the deal).

yeah and I was more than fine in dealing Williams or Saprykin but definitely not Stempniak or McDonald...I didn't want to give up the 2 or 3 best players in the deal while getting back a bunch of guys who might never amount to anything more than 30 point players. No way I was going to give up a 70 point forward or young 25 goal scorer as well as a top offensive defenseman.
well have had some serious talks with 3 teams the last few days about Jokinen. Tonight / tomorrow would be a good time to get in a final, serious offer.
