Maybe im the only one thinking it, but why are we in a rush to have the draft right now with 2 vacant GM spots, and several other GMs without paid dues??? Get them paid and set up and investigated [side-note- Who the fukc invited the 14-yr old Matt Odette??....that guy is so classless its shameful...... i honestly don't know why this isn't looked at more fervently.....]
anyways, my main question is this: why do we even have assistant GM's for any club?? Aren't they the ones who are so eager to get into the league that they are doing the grunt work of making filler emails, PMs, whatever??? Shouldnt they get first dibs on any team????? (and lets face it, Washington and Anaheim have a lot of assets on those teams)....
lets get all that taken care of before we have the draft, then get to the draft and free agency..... it'll give people more time to get acclimated, and get some deals done before draft day...

I agree with Rex on this one. Lets get these 2 teams filled and try and get all the GMs paid up. To me, there is no hurry for the entry draft. It doesn't prevent any other off-season happenings... Get a few loose ends tied up, then proceed with the draft. Will be better for the league in the long run.
My opinion is, we've been done with the league for how long now, 2 months? We've known about the draft for a month. If people can't get money in, thats their problem. IT's really not that freaking hard to get money to someone....jeez Can we help the fact that there was a homo GM and anther one backed out? no.
If i was trying to join a new league i could use paypal the day of, it's pretty common these days.
Also, I am very busy next month and I have booked off this weekend especially for the draft. Anaheim has 2 picks, and It sounds like Francis may be able to get paid today or tomorrow if he has paypal.
as far as the others, Bryce said, if they talk to him about it he'll show some grace. To cancel the draft tomorrow is out of the question in my opinion.

it shouldn't be that difficult to raise $50 in 48 hrs.... or at least get a promise from one of these active assistant GMs that they'll get you the money ASAP, even if its not in 48 hrs...... just someone we can trust

I told eric I was 100% in for a team if there was a dispersal.
I have to agree with Rex and the gang here, the draft is not a necessary evil right now and to be quite honest Sabres your vaction time takes a major backseat for the good of the league. Teams should be full before draft. I still think a dispersal draft is the way to go for all new gms is the way to go though agian there is a ton of time to do this. If I was a GM there is no way i throw my money into the ring knowing that my team was drafted by someone else in the entry draft. Makes little sense to me.

Rod, give me a break. These are the teams who haven't paid.
Anaheim **no GM** Backed out last week- Bryce will do a good job drafting for him Carolina Had over a month to pay Columbus Has been away- Will pay shortly ( I think is in the mail or ready to use paypal) Los Angeles Had over a month to pay Nashville Had over a month to pay Phoenix Cheque is in the mail
That leaves basically 2 teams with excuses, and with the possiblity for grace that Bryce left for the league, there is no reason why everyone can't be eligable to draft. Heck Washington heard about the league today and is paid before Carolina, LA, and Nashville.
Just because you want to sleep earlier Rod, doesn't mean you can give me the "for the better of the league" BS.
Bryce has already put time aside and is hurrying back to the hotel to make it- as well many many other Gms have been preparing and planning for it. How is it fair to the 5 GMs who booked trips, and other events off, to cancell it and reschedule a time where they might not be able to make it. What is "best" for the league is to continue as scheduled over a month ago.
There will be no postponding of the Draft. Bryce has already left and will be on to host the draft tomorrow at 8ET tomorrow. Hope everyone can make it.

Is there a team i can pick up before the draft tomorrow...i see Washington has been taken, maybe St-Louis i just noticed the GM there is fired... dunno I'm obv rdy to pay through paypal right away and rdy to draft as well... Well just for your info FCormier, I am sure once Bryce gets hooked later on today he wil try to get a hold of you and have a chat about that matter.
Now as far as Sabres are concerned and I am never sure which I am talking too, you are absolutely right ! There are at least 4 or 5 teams who have had a month to get their pay in. FIRE THEM ! If they have not got it in by a deadline which should have passed then get new guys simple, Either way they need to be filled in order for the league to move on properly. The fact that you took a vacation means diddly squat to the other 20 gms in the league. SH*T Happens ! Are we supposed to stop the draft cause you had to go to the washroom ? Get over yourself.
This has nothing to do with me and my sleep time . Draft would only be at the same time again anyhow. I have to live with it, and you two should have to as well. You are always screaming what is best for the league but then you spit out crap like this, How hypocritical. Personally I don't care which way we do it, but then I am thinking of the league in a whole not as an individual when i say teams need to be filled before we should draft. Get a hold of those missing payments or fire them and lets move on.

Is there some sort of rush on this draft because the draft is holding up other things in the league? I understand that GM's are anxious to get on with the draft, as we all are. But can't everyone be hired and paid up in the next week or two and conduct the draft then? I just don't understand why we're having a draft missing 5+ teams.
