shut up and keep your BS to yourself

Its common fact that new GMs get a billion offers as soon as they join the league and more often than not get ripped off. Its not a complete generalization, and is something that a few real bad ones have ruined for the few that arent too bad, but its a fact.

I keep hearing guys say they have been in these pools for like 15 years or whatever and then they get ripped. Theres been like 5 GMs that have come through here and been fired right off the bat, so Im saying that we should have some sort of rule that new GMs trades get a close look so that franchises aren't ruined by a GM like these few we've seen that aren't suitable for this league.

Its a proactive thing more than anything.

Ok, lemme talk about my deals.

I understand the issue some of you may have with Kirk and his persistance and his tendency to "go after" new GM's.  But I'll state right now that I've had no problems dealing with Kirk.  I remember dealing with him when he was in the BRHL years ago, he is annoying and persistant, but other than that I can handle myself thank you very much.

This is the problem, some GMs can handle his constant harassing and others cant. He needs to learn.

The other problem is the fact that you consider any deal that you wouldn't do an example of a GM getting ripped off, without allowing for the fact that other people have other styles and plans for their teams.

LOL.... what does ATL need to learn exactly aaron???? not to be so pushy???? wouldnt that just open the door for someone else to swoop in and get the guys???

this entire tangent to the trades opinions has been 100% to do with your not being able to land any of the guys that ATL did.... I am up at work without ICQ and havent been able to land them either..... whaaa, whaaaaaaaa, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..... where does this get us??? nowhere.

why not discuss objectively which deal you think is unfair and explain why you think it is unfair (kind of the original point of this thread)..... instead of taking shots at every new GM....

I think you should stop putting words in my mouth. I couldnt care less if he got players that he did. We didnt target any of them and I dont really care if he gets them at all, I just think that he is harrassing new GMs to the point where they either:

a.) Tell him off
b.) buckle under the pressure and do a deal they arent sure enough because he is so pushy.

Whatever, just keep contesting whatever side of the fence Im on, I dont care. Im done looking out for the good of the league and protecting some franchises to some extent. You guys have tunnel vision.

Well I think it's time for us to weigh in on this little debate. I have to agree with NYR I'm a little ticked off at the perceived lack of judgement from some other gm's. My brother and I have been in sim leagues now for over 7 years. To say we are getting ripped of is a complete joke. We took this team knowing full well what we were getting involved with. We had a GRAND TOTAL of 5 PLAYERS under contract when we came in. We now only have 5 LEFT to get a full roster. We are going to get raped when the UFA market hit's on Sunday. Have we complained? NO. We went about our business, traded like crazy and now have a great niche of young players. We have dealt with Atlanta and regardless what others may or may not think, we've had great conversations and in our opinions, great deals. Is he forceful? What good GM wouldn't. I'm pretty sure I could tell him off and he'd understand just like he could do it to me if given a bad offer and I would accept it. In fact, it has happened.
It's funny that some GM's, that shall remain nameless, complain about trade value and they, more than anybody have tried to steal and undercut new GM's. Again, we talk of experience. We are not here to name names, we don't want to get into that game. But I think every GM would try that on a new GM at some point. It's only natural. The only problem is that these two here don't take the bait.
But after having said all of that, we can say that MOST of the discussions we've had with all of you have been good and on good terms. We wouldn't hesitate to trade with any of you in the future. We hope the feeling is mutual.smile

Marc and Steve.

I dont understand how these new GMs think I am directing this at them, its a common fact that like 50% of new Gms dont last long and ruin franchises a little bit before quitting. Its not unfair for me to suggest that every new GM is under some kind of scrutiny until they are proven.

Its a sad reality, but tons of new GMs are not very good...

Anyways, maybe Im out of line with this suggestion. After all, this is a pay league and afterall, it does have UFA, so its not as hard to rebuild like my other leagues.

Its your money. Do what you guys wish. Like I said, Im gonna quit piping into these discussions. I'll stay within the rules and hope that no one complains about my things and I'll quit doing it to others.

I guess I must stand here corrected.

Bryce....how is that code of conduct coming?

ATL, BUF, PHI are all way out of line.  These discussions are moot and childish.

Aaron:  If a league issue is something that concerns you, then maybe take it to someone that can fix it.  These threads are in my opinions personal attacks on GMs and shouldn't be tolerated.  You want to look out for the good of the league, get with Bryce or Eric in a multi way chat with Kirk and discuss your issue privately.

Kirk:  Your reponses although extracted because of a complaint by another GM aren't professional and your best position here is to say nothing.  You aren't breaking any rule, or doing anything in any way that is wrong.  If a GM can't handle an agressive GM, the sell your team to someone else.

Rex:  This isn't a pile on Rex.  Best not add your flaming responses to what is already a bad thread.

Bryce and Eric:  Please get this stuff under control.

what is wrong with discussing this here though george???

wasnt that the point of this thread to some extent...

as for "flaming the fire" or whatever it was you were trying to get at....... I just took offense at aaron calling out some of our newer GMs, which hurts the league far more than me telling him to shut up....

but your entitled to your opinion....

why is it that everything has to be "under control" and have threads stopped, and have GMs fined???

i think we're all adults (although i wonder sometimes)

I am with the Hawks on this one.
Is there any way we can set up another area on the message board where people can act like children, insult each other, and generally talk about crap nobody else wants to read?
That way, I can just avoid that area of the board altogether instead of not reading the message boards at all (which will probably happen soon if this keeps up).

OK....Philly...let's review the thread and how many childish comments have been made...

Buff Aaron-Is everyone just retarded or are you trying to be difficult?

PHI-
SOUR GRAPES IN TB AFTER THEY MISS OUT ON ANOTHER DEAL!!!!!!!!!

ATL-
ahaha ur new hear buffalo and tampa feel everytime that a good player is moved they would have offered a much better deals.
all you need to know about them is philip is a quuebecueuer (i dont know how to spell in french sorry.)
and the buffalo tag team is from calgary

Buff Luke-
Oh vanny. Buddy just stop talking sometimes.

Buff Aaron-
holy, how many teams are going to deal with ATL? This is ridiculous...

Buff Aaron-
Dude shut up. Im protecting franchises that you keep pillaging. The league is going to have a hard time finding replacements if they keep letting guys rape teams. This isnt a new GM deal, but you do it all the time and its fricken crooked to be completely honest.

ATL-
ur a dumb flamer fan though what do you know..

jordan staal = third line checker way TO GO buffaLOW

because i talk to new guys to see their outlook on their team and the directions their going and then make offer and or trades with them, YOU COULD BE DOING THE SAME BUT YOUD RATHER BITCH ON THE MESSAGEBOARD GROW UP BUDDY.

Buff Aaron-

Im so sick of your stupidity. Get some intelligence. Calling me Flamer and Buffalow, like grow up man, you cant do anything but insult, type in caps lock and rip off GMs that dont know what they are doing.

Im sick of having to deal with Atlanta's childish antics, all he does is cause problems. Eric or Bryce, can you seriously do something about him? You can't even discuss anything because he just acts like an infant.

PHI-
so which ones since you're calling guys out aaron???

shut up and keep your BS to yourself

And on and on and on......that is why some of it should be private.

lol... see some of us take this league as a stress-relief mechanism..... it seems some are taking this waaaaaaaaay to seriously....

this thread will be an afterthought after free agency with all the stuff that goes on in this league and most of it including a lot of the things you mentioned above I found hilarious.... although this is a quote-unquote "serious" league because we pay for its upkeep and to the winners each year, it should be taken with a grain of salt..... and then it will be a stress-relief for everyone else too!!

good luck in FA everyone, and good luck in the coming year!
