Opinions on Trades- Preseason 2007

I think it's a fair deal, Kipper is rated sick and that contract is amazing. Roberts might bend the deal a little bit in favor of NJ, but if SJ can find a replacement pretty cheaply then it's a wash.

To atlanta- Martin Havlat, Ryan Suter, Ryan Stoa, Taylor Chorney..

To Chicago- Marian Gaborik, Niklas Kronvall, Atlanta 2nd, Carolina 2nd

Chicago wins this one... havlat's just too injury-prone for my liking, and although gaborik has suffered his injuries throughout his career, he's not as bad as havlat...

suter > kronvall, but atlanta can even up the deal if chorney or stoa pans out better than the two guys chicago will get from the two seconds...

Yeah, I think philly is going to regret this by season's end, we're still so early. I predict Gomez to have around 80 points, could be more though.

cap room at a premium this year and gomez koivu is also a wash point wise by seasons end IMO...

To NYR: Andrew Raycroft and $500k

To SJ: Al Montoya, Marek Zagrapan and Alexandre Picard (D)

Wow. A stud prospect and two solid prospects for a mediocre backup goalie in the NHL?

Seriously, Raycroft is a 77ov goalie, NYR has two goalies that are a 76. Is that difference worth that much? Did NYR offer this package to Columbus, who is looking to move Vokoun?

steal by the sharks to grab montoya and zagrapan...

for my deal, i parted with quite a bit of money and the 2nd will hurt, but i get a player with a bit more scoring than devereaux, and i make up some of that money back in dropping my payroll down by a mill...

I have to speak up about this one:

to NYI:
Kirill Tulupov
Edm 6, Phi 6, Van 6,

to Atlanta:
Richard Zednik
Johan Hedberg
$5 million

What is going on is Long Island?  How do you give away Zednik, Hedberg and $5M for almost nothing.  We all know how much 6th round picks are worth.  Tulupov is a 7th d-man at best...  At least try to get something as you rape your team of talent!

Especially since he doesn't have a pick better then a 5th rounder.  I can't believe he moved his first for basically nothing. It's gonna be a top 3 pick easy.  I hope you keep playing in this league Jay casue we'll have to pay someone to run your team if you leave.

I saw Bodnarchuk play his only AHL game last year and honestly, he looked like he could end up being solid. I mean, he has a lot to work on defensively but he definitely has the tools to be a offensive d-man at a professional level. a good guy to take a risk on.

I am one of the least likely g.m.s to staop playing: i'm very active.

As for the late rounders, let's talk again AFTER the entry draft. I am in the process of a lot of research and am looking forward to next spring's draft very much!
