The Atlanta-L.A. trade is a good one either way. Mighty fine.

Getting my fav Niklas Kronwall and a 1st rounder is a great return.
Getting Martin Erat locked into a good three-year deal and a couple of other assets is also of good value.

I can see why each side did the trade and how it helps their respective clubs.

Both sides win.

to atlanta- steve staios, edm 1st, tj miller, edm 4th, edm 5th, edm 6th, edm 7th


the team likes the addition of bobby staios and think he will be a perfect fit for the teams kevin lowe tag.. the team said good bye to stud d-man brett clark but with hannan and a healthy liles in colorado clark's PP and PK minutes will likely decrease..

the team didnt wanna move the cheap young forwards they had in mowers and ortmeyer but with edmonton really needing to fill some gaps in their 3-4 lines they were able to offer up some picks prospect the team liked

I desperately needed some depth players to fill out my roster. Got some cheap, defensive minded players to fill out 3rd/4th line. Added a top pairing D man at the same time which is a big upgrade for my team. Too bad I had to give up a boat load of picks but I did what had to be done. especially with the high contracts for depth players in UFA.



How did you do what you had to do?  I think you fell victim to Kirk's insane offers like most GMs do. I dont know why teams add in 4 picks to a deal thats not even major... I dont care what round the picks are.

I needed to get some depth and I couldn't afford to play big contracts that the UFA's are demanding. I had to suck it up and dealt draft picks. I feel I have a decent chance at going far again this year. PLus Clark is a big improvement over Staios and didn't add salary.

arin seriously what is your problem? in a deal last night where erat left for kronvall and a 1st some people ive talked to think i lost.. why dont u post in them deals saying ohh this must be jesse's hardball negociations??????? BUT NO u post on just deals YOU PERSONALLY think i win is when you post. to start it was just annoying but now is just hurting the league people have stopped reading these threads so they dont have to listen to you PLEASE STOP.
