lol... see some of us take this league as a stress-relief mechanism..... it seems some are taking this waaaaaaaaay to seriously....

this thread will be an afterthought after free agency with all the stuff that goes on in this league and most of it including a lot of the things you mentioned above I found hilarious.... although this is a quote-unquote "serious" league because we pay for its upkeep and to the winners each year, it should be taken with a grain of salt..... and then it will be a stress-relief for everyone else too!!

good luck in FA everyone, and good luck in the coming year!

The childish arguing takes the "stress-relief" part out of it for some of us.  The time invested makes people take ownership of it, and that increases expectation of what the league should be.

If you want a no holds barred forum, then talk to Bryce about it.

the thrashers have dealt away drew stafford and mike fisher the team got a load of youth and picks for these two guys

first off they got Zagrapan, Klein, Hennessy, Min 4, Van 5, Van 6, Van 7
for
stafford and perezhogin.

the team is thrilled to land great young goalie mike smith one of the best backup goalies in all nhl and his age and contract are very very nice aswell.. Zagrapan should crack the buffalo line-up this season and has 70 point potential. Klein is a very solid defensive player for the predators and with parent, timmonen moving on he should get more icetime this season.. Hennessy is a player we drafted in the original draft and have wanted back since we dealt him. with no 2nd line center in ottawa at all, we feel this kid could have a big camp and possible steal this role.

the second deal saw mike fisher leave town but coming back were rusty olesz a great great young forward in florida. coming with him is a very good young florida d-man in welch.. ortmeyer was brought in to play a 4th line or call-up role for our squad. along with these players the team also landed a 2nd round pick.

the team cleared out a little cap space with the moves and could become a free agent player before the UFA period is all said and done.

Vancouver wins IMO.

Klein will be a 5-6 guy IF he makes it.
Zagrapan doesnt have a shot in hell. Guys like Clark Mac are wayy ahead of him. Zags wont even make the NHL for more then 100 games in my honest opinion.

Meanwhile stafford has stud written all over.

Buffalo clearly wins the trade with Dallas. Rolston is a 80+ OV player at a cheap salary (2.4 million only!!) and can be tagged next season for an additional season of awesome top line play. Given the salaries in UFA, Rolston's value is HUGE to a competitive team. he alone is worth the sort of prospects dallas is getting in the deal. That makes Draper (74 ov) - who can be Lowe tagged next season - and a 2nd round pick entirely gravy for Buffalo.

Filewich? Tenute? McArdle? ... judging the value of prospects is always plagued with difficulties.

Dallas must be a believer in them and committed to rebuilding. Satan to be dealt next?

I personally hate to rip any deal god knows I have had it happen to me a few times but this one is terribly lobsided IMO.

I see a bottom end first, a pair of 2nds, a 3rd, and  a 5th plus a complete nobody coming Dallas's way

in return they give up on two savvy vets one being an 81 OV who can be tagged give a 2nd back  Buffalo's way

True both Draper and Rolston were UFA at seasons end but the return was well under what Dallas gave up.

This deal in my opinion should be scrubbed and if Dallas was wise wait until the trade deadline to see if moving these two is necessary. The return I am sure will be almost double what they got this time.    weirdface

You guys are clueless... Thats all I gotta say about this. Buffalo is done posting their trades in this official trades thread, its completely optional and we are taking the option of not posting them. Go find them in the transactions if you wanna rip whatever we do.

We gave up 4 players who have NHL experience who are all under 22, get a fricken clue you guys. 1 year of rolston and 1 year of draper for 10 years of eriksson, quincey, mcardle, all of which will be regulars and throw in tenute, colliton and filewich and its more lopsided in his favor.

Nonetheless say whatever you want, Dallas got a heck of a deal here for any rebuilding team. You guys just need to learn how to scout.

I personally just stated my opinion.

I have felt that this thread from its beginning quickly turned into a "ripfest" as every trade of mine was slagged with no redeeming value.

Discussing which teams have won and lost and why can be intereasting and fun if attitude is left out of it.

Of course, when one finds a trade to be very lopsided then emotion does come into play. This league has had a lot of lopsided trades.

I personally would like the committee to overlook the blockbuster trades, any trade including a 80+ ov superstar player actually.

There are FHLsim leagues that send a trade to committee if any three g.m.s object. Perhaps if we had a formal process of listing and objecting to trades (send to committee) then g.m.s would get a procedural response to their feelings.

In any event, the more open and transparent the process, the more civil and reasoned one's response,... the better!

but you guys started the threads!

regardless.. its a good deal for 2 impending ufas.. Quincey will likely be a regular on Detroits D this year and Eriksson will get more minutes I would imagine in Dallas as he gets better.  Not too mention all the other assests.. you need cheap young talent to be able to spend big bucks on other positions.

Yeah they did. And Planter's cashews alone is worth more than peanuts. The pick was excessive. Cashews cost more on the open market; peanuts are everywhere, a dime a dozen. El Paso raped Witchita in that deal, like Speedy Gonzalez all over Dorothy.

See the problem here is no one looks 5 years down the road only the now. Deal is good for both squads for the direction they are going.

Yeah, how dare you people disagree with anything Buffalo does. You are not worthy of having your own opinions. Only he can make trades and rip other people's trades. The sooner everyone learns this the more fun the league will be.

I'm very sorry if we come of this way. I really don't like that label, but I really understand that it might be warrented.

Apologies, and we'll really try to change.
