BRHL2 Entry Draft Info

The BRHL2 Entry Draft is this Sunday Night, July 29th 8pm EST.

The draft will be held in the exact same format of the league draft last year, and as the BRHL1 draft this year.

I tested an online, nondownloadable, java version this afternoon with no problems:
BRHL2DRAFT:
http://irc.netsplit.de/webchat/?net=IrCQ-Net&room=%23BRHL2DRAFT
BRHL2CHAT:
http://irc.netsplit.de/webchat/?net=IrCQ-Net&room=%23BRHL2CHAT

Click those and it should prompt you to a window in which you just enter in your Username (name you want to be viewed by).

--------

For use in mIRC (Preferred):
The server to use when joining via IRC is: IrCQ-Net: Random Server
After connecting to that server, join rooms #BRHL2DRAFT and #BRHL2CHAT

---------

We'll use the BRHL2CHAT room, to chat. while BRHL2DRAFT will be strictly for drafting. It makes thing much easier on the people running the draft.

- PLEASE test those steps prior to 8pm EST on Sunday. I will not be able to help everyone get into the rooms at the beginning of the draft.

- If you cannot attend, you must send a list. If you do not send a list, you will receive BPA (Best Pick Available).

- If you have not paid prior to the draft your team will receive BPA.

- We're going to attempt to do all 7 rounds on Sunday Night, there will be 1:30 minutes available per pick. Please respect the time. If we cannot finish the entire draft we will stop and schedule a finishing date.

- If you have any questions or feel that there is something I missed, feel free to ask.

All previously undrafted-by-us players who are older than the current draft year will be available to be picked in the entry draft, won't they?

That's better than waiting until free agency and having two or three of us snapping up all the guys who fell through the cracks during last summer's dispersal draft.

Let us know. It makes a difference in the value of a draft pick.

Detailed mIRC instructions:

- Open mIRC
- Click File and select "Select Server" (Alt+E)
- In the Category Box on the left-hand side of the Select Server window you just opened. It should've prompted you to the Servers section under the Connect tab. If not please do so.
- In the right-side of the Select Server window make sure that "IRC Network" is set to "All"
- In the "IRC Server" drop box select "IrCQ-Net: Random Server" also known sometimes as "IrCQ-Net"
- Double check the above. Then click "Connect to Server"
- After connecting to the server you will be prompted with a rooms / favorites window. type in "#BRHL2DRAFT" click Join.
- You should join the Draft Room. Once in the Draft Room, paste: "/join #BRHL2CHAT" into the text box, click enter.
- It will create a 2nd room for the BRHL2 Draft. The Chat portion where you will conduct banter.

I hope that answers any and all questions.  If anyone thinks I've missed something lemme know.

 Yes.

Any player who has passed through an NHL Entry Draft and has not been selected can be chosen by a BRHL2 team.

Thanks.

In which case I'm interested in a few later round draft picks. PM me those looking at moving some picks this year.

Is there no way we can start this a couple of hours earlier ?    I here in the EST have to be at work by 4am.   An 8 pm start is just killer for me and most out here I would think !weirdface

I'd be fine with pretty much anything on Sunday- but Eric did set it as that for a reason. Seems like it would have to be a consenus change for everyone or else other people may get messed up by it when they've booked that certain time in their schedule.

Just seems to be a MST, PST thing and not very EST friendly. I know i go to work earlier than most but still 8 pm on a weekend is extremely late for us especially since they are going to try to get all the rounds in in one night. There is no way i could last that long i would not think 8 to 9 is generally my bed time   lol      sleep.gif

LOL I'm leaving home 6 hours early on Sunday as is so I can be at my hotel & hooked up for the draft Sunday night, so I'd argue for a later start. But then again, I'm a dork.

I will not be able to make it to the draft tonight. My hockey team beat the #1 team in the semi's this afternoon to advance to the finals later on tonight. If we lose then I may be able to log on around 930ish, but if we win I'll be gone all night.

Sorry for the late announcement.

Good Luck, hope you don't emulate your brhl2 Oilers...  :)

Looks like we did. Game was tied 5-5 with 2 minutes left and they scored a fluky goal. smile.gif

Thanks for making my picks.
