Just checking in from the hotel here. and I don't have time to go through all the posts, we'll give you an official word by the end of the week when I've had a chance to read and react to everything.
Then your point isn't that signing bonuses is the problem, it's poor job of the agents? I think all contracts are way too low and I do believe that this was not looked at properly but signing bonuses were not the problem and I don't think you can adjust contracts already signed. I don't care if they only come in effect next season, we all made trades based on the cap room we expect to have next season and sorry to say but it's too late now. What this will do is make the prices for UFA's ridiculously high because everyone has loads of caproom but nothing can be done about it.
my point is that its 2 sets of rules for a league that hasnt finished season 1 yet...
in the interest of fairness throughout the league, we should all sign our guys for season 2 under the same set of rules, NO????????
BE REALISTIC
true
we haven't yet signed players under the rules as they were set, and we have made plenty of decisions BASED on those rules
make changes now for a year down the road... we've been going all year under the pretense that the UFA signings would be based on the rules the league was started with
here, here.... and you want to talk about bringing free agent costs down??
if all these guys have to re-adjust their numbers to reflect the value of the player based on YEAR 2's rules, that will lead to less free agent dollars available to be spent... thus bringing the values DOWN......
its plain and simple...

We're all signing our guys for Season 2 based on one one set of rule. The 15% should and I believe only starts applying when season starts for Season 3 contracts. We do one full-season with the rules we had which included the season + the following off-season and when we begin Season 2 we start using the new rules.
