Man this weekend would be perfect but I don't know if bryce and eric will be able to swing it. Next weekend I could still do it but its Canada day long weekend so I don't know if other will be able to.

I dont think next weekend is a feasable weekend at all, Id be pretty miffed if it was over canada day long weekend since it's one of the weekends where the most people are gone in Canada.

Why dont we just run it this weekend? If not the 2nd weekend in July is what Id suggest.

I am good on the Canada Day weekend....but since Sabes is out....it is cool for us to pick a different date.....

I am bad on the 14th of July weekend and the July 28th weekend. Hopefully we can go July 7 or 21 weekend.

yeah 14th is a bad weekend for me as well. Keep in mind we could also do it on 2 nights during the week but that would be a secondary solution I think.

the draft was yesterday, and I got everyone.

Seriously, there isn't a tenative draft date yet. I'll probably announce something shortly.

Maybe i shouldnt propose this as I dont have a first rounder, but maybe we can hold the 1st round LIVE and the others on a the msg board with 12hours time limits per pick

So far a date that seems to be good for all is July 7-8th weekend.

Shouldn't we try to fill up the league (and potentially those GM's drafting their team) and get the rerates done before talking about a draft date?

We already went over that subject. The Fiscal year end is before Free Agency, after the draft. GMs paid their 50 dollars and in that 50 dollars the 07 draft picks were included. Old GMs have the rights to these picks. If they dont draft with them, they are awarded BPA to keep things moving and so franchises dont suffer from a bad GM.

That's pretty dumb. Why not throw new GMs, many of whom won't be coming in with a stellar squad, a bone, and let them make their own draft picks.

BPA for up to 10 teams is pretty lame. Honestly, what's with your huge bone about the draft.

So you can already make your two most important picks. The rest of the draft isn't all that much to write home about.

I agree with the Jackets here. Nowhere did I see that last year's GM would draft this summer, that makes zero sense... only helps to weaken a GM-less team. Why not let the new guy start building?
I think there is some confusion about what you paid for in terms of draft picks. My interpretation is that when we paid last year we paid for the right to trade 07 draft picks. I thikn when you pat for the 07-08 season you pay for the right to draft the 07 draft picks.
