We're talking about (or at least the topic started off with) GM of the YEAR.  Not overall best GM, not anything else.

For the record they've all been signed and my payroll is at 33M for 18 players.

Is that good managing of the franchise?

This is why this trade was done and it will be processed right after the playoffs:
Tanguay, White, Roberts, Johnson and 15M for Semin, Lukowich, Danis, Robidas, Burrows, Ward, STL2 and STL4

Dang yeah! eyepopping.gif

G.m. of the year is an award voted on after the regualr season, not after the cup has been won.

A g.m.'s responsibility can vary, but usually involves building/maintaining a strong organization, from picks to prospects to minors to youngsters to stars, and increasing/maintaining competitiveness in the present season.

and at the end of the day, no GM who's team finishes dead last will never, nor should ever... win GM of the year, no matter what else he may have done.
