I've usually been good at picking the teams, but not great at picking the length.

many of us have the sens winning the series but seven games as predictions is so typical, as many pundits think this will be a "very competitive" series.

i don't understand it.

i predicted a sweep because i expect it to be not even close

playoff hockey is very different than the regular season, and the penguins have neither the defense nor experience to do anything

6-1 is the score in the game right now, and that kind of disparity will continue

i - told - you - so

but then again, the entire tsn staff picked ottawa to win the series, and they looooooovvvvvvve Crosby, so it's not rocket science

Eric, was it wishful thinking on your part to pick Pittsburgh? Brent? .... the Penguins are the oposite of a playoff team. Even the Islanders, assuming DP comes back, are much better suited to playoff hockey.

Or it can boil down to it's only 1 game.  it takes 4 to win a series, and it aint over till it's over.

Ottawa played really well last night. Pens weren't at all ready for them. It was expected. Why did I pick the Pens? I think Fleury will out play Emery and I think this is Crosby's new challenge. This was only one game.

As a Leaf fan I have seen Ottawa play like this before to end up losing in 6 or 7. They will find a way to lose, but it will be harder with Havlat.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong, but you make it sound like it's so easy to predict these series.  I for one had the Pens in 7....but looks like I'm wrong because Ottawa has won a game.
Yes, the majority of the Pens do not have any experience...but I don't think it's such a stretch to expect them to at the very least give Ottawa a run.
I think it's quite silly for you to say the Islanders are better suited.  So you're saying Dipietro and his whole SIX games of playoff experience makes the Islanders better suited for the playoffs?  How's that?  Do you think that the OVERRATED Witt (he who brilliantly gave up the puck with 2 seconds left to allow the Devils to tie it up the last game), or the one-dimensional Bergeron, or the enigma that is Poti match up much better than the Penguins D?  I'm not here to say the Pens D is great or experienced, but just as you don't understand how anyone can even dare picks the Penguins even coming close to the <choke> Senators I don't see your logic behind the Islanders comment.  They have Smyth...the Pens can counter with Recchi/Roberts.  Who do the Isles have?  Mr. Yashin, will he do it for them?? hehehe......Satan?  Riiiiiiight.  They have one guy who's been somewhat consistent, and that's Blake....but the Penguins have a couple players named Crosby & Malkin to counter with.  Just like you think that people are overrating this Pens team in this series, I think you're placing wayyyy too much on playoff experience.  Yes, it means something.....but let's not dismiss the Penguins so easily.  You make some good points, but the fact that you can jump the gun after one game is nonsense.

Anyways, I'm sure if the Sens win in 4 or 5, we'll hear how brilliant you are.

As good as ottawa looked, the penguins can score just as well as the sens. I think it comes down to goal tending. If either MA Fluery can figure out his life, or They put in THibault and he plays well i think it will be a 6 or 7 game series. I also think Ottawa is underrated, they ahve great D, good Scoring good role players, I think they might upset buffalo for the east. Who knows tho.. Anyways my point is that pitt will make this a series.

As far as teams running away with the series...Detroit looked 10x better than the flames tonight even tho it was only 4-1, if it wasn't for kipper who should have easily been the 1st star in that game, it honestly would have been 7 or 8 -1..thats coming from an honest flames fan.
