How to become a BOD member next season?

How do we go about being the BOD member for our division for the next season? The Buffalo franchise is not very pleased with how our process with the signing of Jay Bouwmeester has gone and think some of the BOD are not doing that great of a job and we'd like our hand in the process.

We started offers to Jay Bouwmeester in November and have sent about 8 offers, (OUR FIRST GOT ACCEPTED BY THE PLAYER REP) and now the BOD is basically taking all of the negotiation rights we have away from us and naming their price on the subject. How is this fair?

- Had you sent 8 offers he woulda tested RFA already you're only aloud 3 per player.

- I know there was a mixup with an offer somewhere in there, but I seriously doubt your claim of 8.

- Don't like the job the BOD is doing? Why because you don't get your way.

- 2.8 for 5 years is ridiculous for Boomer.

- ALL signed deals are sent to the BOD for approval, if any concerns are brought up, it is tossed to a vote to pass or not, if it doesn't pass the vote. The BOD makes what the consensus feel is a fair offer on the player. If a team has negotiation room left (ie has only made 2 offers) They can send another offer which may or may not be accepted. If they've submitted 3 they are sent multiple proposals, if none are accepted the player tests RFA.

- Only player thus far testing RFA is Sean Avery and he didn't come to an agreement in the first three offers so it didn't even reach the BOD. ALthough another is likely to soon join him.

- There is no formal process to becoming a member of the BOD, we may make some changes to the BOD structure in the offseason, but that will purely be at Eric and my discretion.

Hmmm, well, Buffalo would like to throw their hat in that ring for consideration. That is all.

I think we have a hot BOD...lol... but they're darn slow (my team's still awaiting confirmation of contract offers before starting the next round of RFA offers to the next couple of players).

having similar problems with a few rfa's (PISANI at 1.7+ per year for 3 yr  YIKES) for a 16-18 goal guy YIKES, klowe HAD to overpay to land pisani after the pronger fiasco, WHY is it remotely a factor to expect him to get that kinda contract in a FHL league. the reasoning of he wants similar compensation as nhl contract should have nothing to do with RFA in FHL as their are instances where it makes no sense.. why dont we just auto their actual nhl contracts if this reasonin can be used???

id like to throw my naame in the hat for a BOD spot aswell

hey kirk just curious how you think 1.7 for 3 years is unreasonable when hes getting 1st line ice time in Edmonton since Smyth was dealt and also got 2.5 for 4 years in the NHL.

and you wanna be on the board??????????

and ps if thats true that buffalo is bitching about having to pay jboom more than 2.8 mil then he must be joking too.

By the way, the delay or the weird demands for players are not because of the BOD. All the negotiations are made with Bryce or Eric and once the offer has been accepted THEN it goes through the BOD.

philly its unrealistic because hes DOESNT produce enough stats to require to be paid like a first liner. and my point is that his nhl contract shouldnt have anything to do with what he has to sign for in th fhl sim world.. KLowe HAD to keep the HOMETOWN boy after the pronger fiasco happened so they in turn overpayed him, and another reason they paid him thatt is because he showed he can be a dominant PLAYOFF guy, but in fhl where nhl playoffs mean jack **** when it comes to the main attributes it ISNT a reasonable excuse to say his nhl conract should have any factor in FHL negociations as things like hometown kid and the teams superstar demands a trade, or unreal playoff run, or hes banging the coaches daughter, his grandpa is co-owner of team. all these things that could cause a player to maybe get a generous contract from the nhl team SHOULDNT factor into fhl sim contracts.
IT SHOULD BE BASED ON PRODUCTION NOOOOOOOO????????

WHy? He makes 1.85 this year, and for next year. And since we are a season behind..this is his contract comming up. So technically we should be able to sign him the same as the NHL. However we watned a longer deal so we were willing to pay 1 million more in the first 2 years, in order to not have to pay 1 million more for the last part. Which would be 3.8..

On a person note: please keep swear words off the boards..

Thanks,
Luke

one certainly couldn't say it's been a zoo on the boards around here... too quiet when it comes to civil discussion... more a den of contention and discontent, like a bunch of cokfights in Thailand, surrounded by spectators in a tame neighbourhood. If you've ever seen it, you'd know what I mean.
