Kevin Fu*king Lowe

i am a season ticket holder at rexall and i have never been more proud to say that
 with regards to the trade.
Smyth
for
Neilsson, Omarra, (14-23 overall pik)

First off  neilson is their scouts son and they wanna see him develop and he is producing in the ahl at 21 could turn out to be solid 2nd line guy for team like mike fisher offesively,

omarra could max max potential possibly be a stoll seen omarra have some good games and plays a very good junior game like stoll used to i dunno i just see some similarities over ppg his whole career pretty well.  (stoll piked in second round omarra 15th)  but more likely a 3rd line C or wing (depending on his faceoff game who can bang bodies and replace pisani kinda role on team regular season production wise.  and also another first giving lowe 3 first round picks.

why not next year when heatleys/iginlas are  ufa's at year end offer one of those teams. 2 of the prospects we get in the firsts this offseason and a 2nd or 1st then and try and get heatley to sign in alberta for something like 7mill per???????? it gives lowe so many more options this offseason and next.. the team without pronger fell apart EVEN with smyth,  getting the assets he has he will have plenty of options and several guys coming into the league (omarra, neillson, schremp) he can move torres, lupul, smith for a great d-man pitkanen/Whitney kinda young d-man involved possibly in the offseason and add him to smid, greene, staios, hejda, syvret/roy/chorney as a defense it would be solid,.
after next years trade deadline.

Heatley-Stoll-Hemsky
Sykora-Horcoff-Shremp
Pisani-Poulliout-Moreau
Thoresen-reasoner- jaques/omarra/neillson

Pitkanen/Whitney- Smid
Greene--Staios
Hejda- Chorney/syvret/roy

roli
dubnyk or JDD

it gives lots of options for next season if the team is competing at the deadline in possible top 6-8 teams lowe could add a bigname UFA for the anahiem and nyi draft picks he aquires along with a pik from 08 for a ufa like heatley, iginla from a team :)

all ufas next nhl offseason

heatley is rumoured to want iginla money and kipper wants to be paid as he should (upper 6's, and the flamers HAVE to keep him, who knows if iggy hits the market why lowe wouldnt pay him that 6-7 mill calgary cant afford and bring him home.. (wouldnt oiler fans be happy then if this could happen)

what im trying to say is as a business man lowe has to be complemented for having the stones to look at it and see the big picture hoping next year his youth can play and develop and then possibly add at deadline or in that offseason top player and dominate possibly..

even if smyth is a hometown boy and his hand-eye and goal scoring knack are unreal he simply isnt worth the money lowe offered to begin with if u wanted to pay him 5.25 is the max i would pay him  every one says tanguay 5.25 was what drove smyth's price up tanguay is how old smyth? . even if he is the hometown hero.. lowe kicked himself in the nuts alot by HAVING to sign fernando in the offseason BECAUSE he was so unreal and a EDMONTON KID, that he wasnt going to make the mistake again with smyth and getting the assets he did he will have the option of making some killer moves in years to come with the team flexibility. the team has no 4.5,mill or higher guys and will have flexibility to add and gain some elite UFA's at27/28 years old for their prime of the careers which is what the new nhl wants to happen turn arounds will only take 2-3 years by well ran franchises and 3-4 by bad ones so all fan bases will be able to compete for divisions and playoffs in a cycle most likely.

lets get some response

you wanna hug Kevin Lowe rather than swear at him?

you're in the clear minority with that opinion among the Oil season ticket faithful

from all accounts

--------------

o'marra is expected to become a third liner, we agree there, though 2nd line regular for the other bub is unlikely: he doesn't have Upshall kind of skills and likely won't make the jump to the NHL

--------------

Eric was right about recent Isles draft picks: there have been an above average amount of BUSTS and marginal players

I see Heatley resigning with the Sens for another 2-3 years.
How do you see the Oilers getting Pitkanen and Whitney?

the whole reason for the post is that it gives the franchise so many more option and how is a 21 year old ppg ahl former 15th overall player never going to be a nhl player????

omarra would fill in nicely on teams 3rd lines in his career which is still usefull were a guy like neilsson will get his shot with the oilers

Kirk i know you've got an imagination...but your effing off your rocker here. 1st off, Heater hates that dump of a city, he grew up in Calgary; trust me he will not end up in edmonton. Also, I dont know how you think that an average 3rd liner, an underachiever, and a old defensive specialist with 1 year on his contract is going to land anything close to pitkanen or whitney. Maybe noah welch lol. Third, Maybe instead of getting o'marra and Nilsson, He should have addressed the team's actual needs and Picked up a star defensemen, thats why the oilers suck...Finally, ladislav smid is not a #2 defensemen. Maybe he is on the oil, but he doesnt have nearly enough offensive upside to be a #2. He'll be a #3-4 for his life.

Why Stoll as 1st line centre? I say Gretzky comes out of retirement, he'd get 100 assists with Heatley and Hemsky.

This along with the PHX thread about one of their GMs leaving are the two most brilliant threads on this board. For different reason's of course. PHX nailed sarcasm to a T, and Kirk's immagination flowing through his fingers with the above explanation is priceless. Too bad its too big to be my Signature...

Priceless Kirk, simply priceless.

Can we also teach Kirk how to use punctuation?

You've got a better chance at teaching a rock Mandarin Chinese, then teaching Kirk how to use the English Language correctly.

BTW... Hows the weather down there from out of the playoff picture, Kirk?

LMAO.

And you all made fun of kirk for thinking the oilers would get so much in the NHL.....

well we got pitkanen & sanderson (1 yr then UFA).... and re-signed torres to a 3 yr deal...

then used the money he saved to re-sign torres for 3 years, and bump pitkanen to 2.4:

SALARIES BY YEAR
PLAYERPOSTEAMD.O.B.AVG'D AMT2007-082008-092009-102010-112011-122012-13
LUPUL, JOFFREYRPHI83/09/232,316,6672,535,0002,900,000RFA
SMITH, JASONDPHI73/11/021,976,0001,976,000UFA
TORRES, RAFFILEDM81/10/082,250,0001,600,0002,400,0002,750,000UFA
SANDERSON, GEOFFLEDM72/02/011,500,0001,500,000UFA
PITKANEN, JONIDEDM83/09/192,400,0002,400,000RFA

and then lowe bumped up our salary situation by signing souray and possibly penner now too....

anyways, just goes to show how outlandish everyone looks SOMETIMES...
