Ya I said it...Thrashers, Habs, and Leafs won't make the playoffs.
Western Conference 1)Nashville Preds 2)Anaheim Ducks 3)Calgary Flames 4)Detriot Red Wings 5)Dallas Stars 6)SJ Sharks 7)Minnesota Wild 8)Vancouver Canucks
Jeez it's so hard to win a cup..haha Anyways I'll post my playoff predictions once this is confirmed:D Jk I know the eastern conference is quite a stretch, I just think the NYR are going to get really hot.
Dallas will not drop to 7th in the conference.. and behind minnesota.. sorry that just wont happen.. stars at best might get the 2nd 4th or 5th spots.... they are coming on hard SOO hard for the diviision but i think san jose takes it.. then detroit and nashville are battling for the 1st and 4th spots.. so ill say Dallas goes to 5th place and plays detroit in the first round and what a matchup that will be.
I'm excited at what looks like the following in the East:
#1 Sabres vs. #8 Rangers ... Jagr needs a career playoff game or two.. Sabres in 7. #2 Devils vs. #7 Lightning ... *yawn* Devils in 5. #3 Thrashers vs. #7 Islanders ... The desperate duo.. Nolan's boys in 6. #4 Senators vs. #5 Penguins ... The underrated vs. the overrated.. Sens in 5.
There is still over a dozen games per team to be played but it's heading this way.
So it'd be a Sabres-Isles conference semis... Nolan vs. his old team: interesting! Sabres in 6. Devils-Senators would be difficult to call. I'd give N.J. an edge due to their defensive play.
Sabres-Devils in the eastern final with Buffalo prevailing.
But if indeed the Thrashers play the Islanders, one of these two teams could be a cinderella team in the east if their quality young netminders can shine when it matters most.
Unless boston somehow makes the playoffs for the east to go against the Sabres who are first in the east.. i really dont see any team in the playoffs not being considered as a cinderella story anymore.... like its not goign to be huge like back in 1994 when the sharks beat the red wings and then almost teh leafs... like those days of real cinderella stories i think are coming to an end. like anaheim in 2003.. or Minnesota in 1991
