Coyotes vs Kings - Checkmate

Mats Who?  P.J. Axelsson the New BRHL Poster Boy
Record number of viewers in Sweden for any BRHL game

Phoenix (AP)

In a battle of the league violators, heavy wagering occurred in tonights contest between the league leading Coyotes and the basement dwelling LA Kings.  If you would have looked at this game on the schedule at the beginning of the season, it would have seemed like just another night at the rink.  Well not tonight.  This was a game of great magnitude, as the Coyote's lost franchise forward Mats Sundin for the rest of their lives.  Many fans were wondering how the Coyotes would respond.  One GM went out of his way to bet fake money on it.  We're not sure if anyone took him up on the offer, but if so, his team may need to reap some endorsement awards to recoup the amount.

Back to the game....no, this was not a big win in terms of talent vs talent...however, it was a true show of grit by the 'YOTES.  Yanic Perreault, #1 C....Yanic Perreault, #1 C....Yanic Perreault, #1 C....Yanic Perreault, #1 C....Yanic Perreault, #1 C.  Nope, if Phoenix GMs say that enough times, it still doesn't sound like "Mats Sundin, #1 C".  But with players like Rozsival, Chouinard, Whitney and Axelsson in the lineup, who needs Mr. Mats, that Swedish meatball?  With the other swedish meatball PJ Axelsson leading the troops with a 3 point night, the Coyotes showed they can still play hockey.

Also of note, that prick frenchie Patrice Brisebois, who cost the Phoenix franchise Mats Sundin, finished up with a +1 in 24 minutes of play.  Not a bad start to his career in the desert...well worth losing Sundin over.

The Coyotes are also using the remainder of the days leading up to the deadline to showcase some players who are said to be on the block.  The 'YOTES <insert Coyote howl here> are obviously in the market for a #1 C.  They are not looking to mortgage their future, however they will explore all avenues.

Marek Zidlicky was so pissed off at the prospects of losing captain Mats, that he elbowed Trevor Daley in the head, chest & sternum (in that order) which sent Daley to the dressing room.  Word is that Daley will be lost for 1 week.

So, all in all, a busy day for the Coyotes...and although they didn't have to beat one of the premier teams in the league, this was a big moral victory.  Piss & vinegar was served as the team's pre-game meal.

Commish, give this guy 500k for a brilliant post!  AT the very least, give him Sundin.

You should be happy the info in here is wrong as Zidlicky did not injure Daley.. somehow an injury at 7:20 doesn't correspond with a penalty at 7:02.. and if it did you can bet there would be a suspension appeal :)

Also not to burst your bubble but I was no longer in violation of anything at the time of the game.. I guess you weren't either

Anyhoo.. maybe in a year or two my team won't get run over so much.

LOL...what happened is Zidder elbowed Daley at 7:02 and Daley tried to come on next shift (7:20)....that's when he experienced the effects.  :)

It does if you're dyslexic.
