I take it you caught the 4-1 win last night by my Leafs. It hurts me to say this but....Antropov dominated you guys *shivvers*
Again, you realize that I am almost 40 and your team has not one cup since the day I was born?
(Revels in being an Oiler and Habs fan.)
What kind of person cheers for two teams? Go Habs!
Someone that grew up cheering for the Habs before there was an Oilers and has lived in Edmonton for 25 years.
Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaap If you were a true Habs fan you would have stayed one. lol
Ok...that is it, now I will cheer against them and curse them....I hope the Habs lose every game from now until eternity...>>>I hex the Habs.......they will never win another cup during my lifetime.
As a Leaf fan I always hear the "40 years" joke, so it doesn't really bother me. I wasn't even alive for half of those years.
In the present day, the Leafs have more points than the Oilers with less games played. We are now closing in on the Sens and Habs with less games played. We don't have the best team on paper but everyone is buying into Maurice's system and we are winning games. Five straight now, 4 of those on the road. And we have been without Tucker, Wellwood and Peca for some time now.
While I am well aware we aren't in any shape or form a cup contender, we are in a "rebuilding" year, and playing just as well Edmonton, Ottawa or Montreal and they have rosters that are built to win now.

Okay, but let's not make too much out of the regular season.

That was last year and they lost. Don't get me wrong, I love the Oilers and how they play, just being defensive about my team.

Good thing you haven't in your lifetime every had to feel what it is like for your team to go to the finals and lose....or win...or whatever..because above all else....the LEAFS SUCK.
PS. And I was kidding about the Habs....I just think the kid shouldn't tell me who to cheer for.

I started cheering for the Habs because I loved the way that Yvan Cournoyer skated. And the fact that the Leafs sucked.
But you can't blame a guy for cheering for a team that he follows because of the media in his city for the past 25 years. (Remembers....back in the late 80s....we really didn't haves no internets...) Tough to follow what the Habs were doing. So I learned to cheer for both. (Sure was tough with the mid/late 80s Oilers.)
