I'm not really blaming you Rob, I just think the most deserving players should go. I can tell you built a team to win based on ratings as well and not necessarely stats which is probably what I would have done as well.
I just suggested to Eric that next year the league picks the teams so that the most deserving players make it with at least 1 per team and not the best rated ones.
Lets see your line up then, yes I wanted to win, but that didn't change who I picked, NJ has an OK defence IMO (no offence John) and I took that into consideration when I picked Kipper, he has put up very good numbers, with out a lot of defensive help in front of him. Also I decided I didn't want any team to have over two players going and I felt Schneider deserved to go more than Turco, and you had Tanguay already voted in. If I was that concerned over ratings I would of taken Turco and left a guy like Thomas behind and just taken some plugger from Montreal to stick on the 4th line.
Hell there is a lot of people I could of changed up, I could of made a case for Lundqvist (and he probably should of gone taking a second look) but when I was picking the teams Vyborny was in the line up right till the end and Lundvist slipped through the cracks (sorry). There is a lot of choices I had trouble with, like selecting another LW frankly there aren't a ton of great LW's out there and I decided on Smyth because I felt he meant more to his team then some of the other possible players. Conroy went because I was impressed with the fact that he has put up 40pts in 40 games, but a guy like Forsberg should of gotten in ahead of him(and if I was that worried about ratings he would of) but again I felt Kipper had more to do with NJ's success then Forsberg did, and since NJ had two players going Forsberg got left out, but that isn't what bugged you, it was two of your players that you felt got snubbed that is bugging!
If there was one player that I chose over another because of ratings would of been in Boston, were I took Hossa over Lupul, but even then Hossa has put up 35 points in 33 games since coming to the Bruins, and I think that is a good enough reason to get him into an allstar game, and if Bryce is that offended that I skipped on Lupul he is more than welcome to make that change!
Again lets see your team.

Based on who deserves to be there, here's my team: Ottawa- Ryan Miller, Sami Salo Montreal-Sheldon Souray Florida- Henrik Lundqvist Tampa Bay - Alex Tanguay, Mathieu Schneider, Vincent Lecavalier, Marty Turco New Jersey- Ed Jovanovski, Peter Forsberg Carolina- Jason Spezza Philly-Ryan Smyth Pittsburgh-Pavol Demitra Toronto- Patrick Marleau NY Islanders-Mike Fisher Atlanta- Dany Heatley Washington-Daniel Alfredsson NY Rangers- Dennis Wideman Buffalo- Jay Bouwmeester, Sidney Crosby Boston- Joffrey Lupul
Yes there are 4 lightning and it may seem retarded but Schneider leading based on the Norris formula, Lecavalier 3rd for centres in scoring, Turco 2nd in save percentage and Tanguay voted in.
and thats fair to the other GM's 4 Tampa players??? I guess if me trying to be fair to the other GM's and not loading up on one team, makes me look bad and make it look like I'm just selecting players because of ratings then so be it, but I think my team is fair to all the GM's and I had a reason to select every player even if the best player didn't always go, and if your going by most deserving and not best ratings Souray shouldn't go Campbell should. And being fair is picking players who don't deserve to be picked just because one team is too good for the rest of the league?
Is it fair to pick a guy with a 0.899 save percentage ahead of one with a 0.914 or 0.917 save percentage just so that one team doesn't have too many players?
Like I said from the start this has nothing to do with any other GM or any other team your just upset because you felt a couple of your players got snubbed, not whats fair.
P.S. thanks for Radulov who will be better than Vinny in a year or two

Well first of all Radulov better than Lecavalier in a year or two HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. and second if you do feel that way you can thank Coolumbus for that one: To TampaBay: Marty Turco, Steve Poapst, Alexander Radulov, $7,500,000 To Columbus: Dan Hinote, Mark Eaton, Tomas Vokoun
Radulov was never part of my plans although I do think he's a great player, no where close to being as good as Vinny though.
Vinny is having a career year has never gotten over 78 pts and has been a plus only 3 times (counting this year) during his 8 years in the league, keep in mind I said Radulov would be a better player I said nothing about the amount of points he would put up, but since I'm sure that is all you are worried about lets compare stats:
Last year in the Q Vinny 115 pts (44G 71A) +27 (pretty good for the Q) 1.98 PPG
Radulov 152 pts (61G 91A) +53!! 2.45 PPG
There last year in the Q during the playoffs Vinny 41 pts (15 G 26A) 2.28 PPG
Radulov 55pts (21G 34A) 2.39 PPG (In fact Radulov was so good he was the Memorial Cup MVP)
First year in the NHL Vinny 82 Games 28 pts (13G 15A) -19 and only .34 PPG
Radulov (On pace for) 66 Games 40 pts (22G 18A) a +9 and a .60 PPG
Radulov has blown away Vinny every time, and Radulov is putting up amazing numbers and has only played more than 15min a game once and that was only 15:09. He has the NHL's best shooting percentage and is top 10 in rookie scoring and has only played 33 games if he had played 45+ like most of the other players he would easily be top 5.
Again thanks for Radulov
