After finally getting another winger, I have a few more holes I would like to fill before the playoffs........
First I would like to upgrade on David Legwand, now I know he will get a very good rerate next year as he is on pace for around 75pts, and I would have no problem hanging onto him, but if I could flip Legwand and a pick or two for an immediate upgrade instead of waiting for next year I would be very interested in trying to work something out. Cap space is a big issue(I have around 150K left in cap space) and I have no interest in a rental as I would need this player to play on my second or first line next year.
Second (and probably the hardest) I would like to upgrade on Todd Simpson, again cap space is an issue but I would like to get someone that could slip into my top 4, I don't care if this player is a rental or not but I have lots of picks and very good prospects that I could send the other way with Simpson.
Third (and the least important) I would love to upgrade on Belfour he has a large contract but will be a UFA so you don't have to worry about him next season. Doesn't matter if the goalie coming back is a UFA or not and if I could combine this with trading Legwand or Simpson cap issues would be a lot less of an issue in those deals.

I doubt anyone will take Belfour, why not just buy him out?

Because you want cap space to make additions this year, without which your hands are tied very tightly, and I am 99.9% sure no one is going to take Belfour off your hands.
Actually, if he is a UFA you can probably dump him ala Devils and Malakhov, my bad
