The Ducks are rumoured to be looking for a backup goalie ---- Have you heard, Brent Burns is available in Atlanta ---- Nik Kronwall is being shopped for a defensive upgrade in Boston ---- The Sabres are looking to package picks & prospects for NHL caliber youth ---- Chris Mason is likely to see increased action in Calgary ---- Carolina will be a very active team after game 42, look for them to stock up and make a playoff push ---Chicago is actively persuing a top flight dman ---- Columbus continues to get older --- Colorado is listening to inquiries on Malkin - Dallas is considering adding in another center ---- Guess what, Brent Burns is available ----Detroit has been overachieving and is looking at adding some UFA to be players --- Edmonton has been listening to offers on Marc Savard ----- Florida is thrilled with the ridiculous play of their defense, any moves will likely come up front --- Los Angeles is shopping everyone and their dog, UFAs, RFAs guys signed, everyone --- The Wild are looking to add another depth defenseman --- Montreal is looking for some more scoring --- NYI is off on vacation, the Isles are clearly gearing to netx season - NYR Is looking for youth in any deal --- Brent Burns is STILL available --- Ottawa is on a real roll, the team is sitting tight as the ride this out ---- Philly is shopping Hasek looking for a top 6 forward --- Phoenix has been playing well, but wouldllike to add another scorer --- Pittsburgh is looking to improve its third defensive pair ---- St. Louis is looking to acquire scoring, could deal Chara for a top end forward --- San Jose continues to add NHl ready youth --- Brent Burns apparently could be dangled in an attept to upgrade --- Tampa is looking to deal RFA to be players, guys like Tanguay, Gomez etc --- Torontois struggling and is looking to shake up its blueline --- Vancouver is hard after some scoring up front --- Washington well, no one has heard from him --- This just in, Brent Burns is available

well at least the Predators and the Devils weren't included in all this rumor mumble jumble.. or did he actually forget to say things about these teams lol
The Gossipman got it half right anyway. Any movement on the Panthers is likely to happen at forward. The Panthers are very happy with the play of the defence (and goalies as well), however it's not rediculous that they're performing the way that they are. Too often teams believe that if their defensemen have high "df" they'll let in few goals. A good core of dmen is critical, and they will play to a much higher level if they're well balanced. It takes more than high DF to do well defensively.
