The Gossipman got it half right anyway. Any movement on the Panthers is likely to happen at forward. The Panthers are very happy with the play of the defence (and goalies as well), however it's not rediculous that they're performing the way that they are. Too often teams believe that if their defensemen have high "df" they'll let in few goals. A good core of dmen is critical, and they will play to a much higher level if they're well balanced. It takes more than high DF to do well defensively.

But then you have 7 d-men with 70+ DF so it is kind of important no?
