No one has yet but feel free… I assure everyone this little insight isn’t directed at any specific GM but rather, perhaps I just feel comfortable enough to share. While negotiating a trade with me, please realize I care very little about your longwinded rationale or explanation. I assume you have an opinion on your team’s direction, current rates, contracts, player potential, likely rerates, and so on. A simple explanation is really all I need as I assume you do to. I also don’t understand why people regularly inquire about the availability of players then only to attempt to tell me why that player may not be as valuable as others think. How many of us have endured listening to some GM ask if Player X is available to hear every critique of Player X that a guy could come up. In short, your opinion is VERY HIGHLY unlikely to change the value I have on any asset so please accept that point. I could go on but I feel this suffices...
Simon Gagne wears a visor, therefore is a wimp, therefore means he will be hurt and never the same, so you should trade him. I'll give you Alex Henry for him, he's tough.
I can see your point, but I think everyone needs to realize that what you are talking about here and things like lowballs are all part of making deals. Everyone gets them, I say just go through it even if it is agonizing for you, and hopefully by the end you'll either reach a deal or know the others opinions very well.
Please keep your lectures on tolerance and patience off of my posts Mr. Sabres. I am an ass not a hippy! I feel you should send me $100k for littering my post with all your cheery outlooks and general goodness... :)
Plus, when your opinion on the value of a player is wrong, I feel it's a duty to let you know why it's wrong. It's all about educating those that don't see things realistically.

I realize that everyone has their own opinions on things, but if they aren't the same as mine, they just are plain old wrong. There's not really too much more to it than that...

Sometimes what I don't understand is that players are on the block for months, everyone knows they are for trade yet the GM still keeps overrating them.
