To St.Louis: Alexander Semin, Jim Howard, Yannick Tremblay
Tremblay is garbage pretty much even though he's got 3 points so far so forget him.
Boucher is very good, but he's an UFA.
Stoll is a borderline 2nd line C, and will most likely re-rate down after this year.
Semin is playing at nearly a PPG pace, and is top 25 in PP ice time per game. He's also got some of the best pure skills in the league, and will easily be a PPG+ player in the future.
Howard will likely get a crack at the starter's role in Detroit next season, and is up there with goalie prospects like Schwarz, Harding, and Rask. Despite Atlanta saying that Howard is at best a career backup.
I say I win now, but lose bigtime in the future. Kirk however thinks that I fleeced St.Louis.
Opinions?

howard as valueable as rask lol come on... detriot is in a pressure cooker and will always look to sign a guy outta free agency (hasek, cujo) to think they will give the job to an unproven guy isnt likely..
i never said u fleeced him i just said for a team to give up a 77 ov d-man and a 76 ov 23 yr old center for a prospect, clb got the better in my opinion
Considering Boucher is UFA after this season, I think the deal works well for both teams. Columbus is in a good position to win the division, while next season the deal will definetely be in St. Louis' favour. Overall a very good deal for both teams.
Uhh.... no he can't he hasn't played the full season in Columbus.
From the rulebook
) Lemieux tag players are 77ov or higher during the season BEFORE they become unrestricted. So in season one if Joe Sakic is over 77ov and is unrestricted if not signed, he would be a player who could be tagged during season 1. The tag can only be used to resign with a team if they have been there for at least one full season.
matt was tough to let go of semin..but i refused t ogive up boucher unless i got semin. The new NHL dosent allow teams liek detroit, toronto and the rangers to own the free agent market anymore...and the only way the wings would be able to sign a starter like hasek if only there is a mass amount of starting goalies out on the market the upcomming year. I personally dont think howard will be starting for the wings next year...but for sure in the near future. last year he was called up to play a few games because of injuries to the wings goalies. compared what other people offered...this was an offer that couldnt be passed down...id rather take a future starter who is starting in the AHL currently and semin a PPG rookie who will see some time with ovheckin and put up points in the league for many years to come, for boucher who i can always try to bid for when UFA time comes around...and jarret stoll who is ussually over rated by every oiler fan...all i gotta say is that i feel its a pretty fair deal and columbus gave up a potential star in semin to go for the cup.
