In light of another vetoed deal out of Los Angeles, and after consultation with Jason the GM in Los Angeles, the Kings organization is doing some restructuring.
The league offices, myself in particular, will be operating the Kings on an interm basis with Jason acting as the assistant GM in Los Angeles. Any and all deals until further notice must be approved by myself.
Obviously there will be no trades taking place between the Kings organization and the Bruins or Flames. This is in effect immediately.
Feel free to negotiate with myself or Jason regarding the Kings players.
If you have any questions and/or concerns, please feel free to voice them.
Because Jason is not leaving the league, merely stepping to an assistant GM role for teh time being.
As it was stated, neither Eric nor I will be making deals with LA, as Jason and I will be pow-wowing with all transactions regarding the Kings. The main reason is because my goal is to keep the franchise as healthy as possible. By taking the opportunity to improve the Kings as well as spend some time explaining the ins and outs of the BRHL and the FHL world in general, the Kings franchise will be that much better.
was just wonderring i hope its not at all a conflict of interest but if your doing some dealing as he kings g.m and team x offers the kings a player u like but jason doesnt want to do the deal for some reason doesnt that give ur briuns or flamers the advantage of knowing exactly what the guy is looking for?

I think that's pushing it a little, who cares I think if we all trust them to send them money i think we can trust them to take care of a team?
Personally I think Bryce has done an absolutly outstanding job with this league so far, Erik included as well!
Anyways, Im very glad that the league has stepped in to help the LA Kings franchise. Jason is probably just inexperienced and I think all of us have been targeting him and his team from the moment he traded Bergeron away and that franchise was fast losing its assets. Ive seen it happen in too many sim leagues that a team gets real bad real fast from one inexperienced or uncaring GM, which could be the case with Jason. Kudos to the league for stepping in the way they are.
Id assume that this is more-less a temporary fix and that a head GM will be found and Jason will be his assistant? Either way this is the best for the league and franchise. Good call once again commish's!
As far as finding a permanent GM, I think Jason is the longterm LA GM, we've discussed the scenario there and hopefully after a short while of working together we'll get him trained and ready to roll. He cares about the team a great deal otherwise he wouldn't have been so receptive to my suggestion. It's just a matter of inexperience, and this is a TOUGH league if you're inexperienced.
We'll work together with the Kings, at this point we have no desire to seek a new LA GM, Jason is the GM for this team in the longterm. I'm just a short term fix while I explain every detail to him and try and get him up to speed.
i never once said i didnt trust bryce or eric i just said their could be a little conflict of interest. their are lots of good assistant g.ms in this league why not ask one of them to move to la's situation and help and then they could have top priority if another team came into the league i was just offering a solution
Those who've been following will notice Ive deleted a few threads, try and keep this to the topic at hand.
At this point because it's Jason's team there is no point to moving an assistant GM here. And most of the AGMs I've talked to are happy with their situation right now. We did look outside the league for a few people to come in in an advisory role, but were not able to come to a satisfactory arrangement.
My moving here is a temporary thing and is just to assist Jason and give him some traning so he can swim in these Shark infested waters.
I have a similar concern with the idea of the Kings being run, or at the very least, having the authority to do trades, by ANYBODY that already has another team. I fully realize the statement has been made that the Kings won't trade with either of the commish's, and that's great, but I still think that it's inappropriate. I wouldn't volunteer to do it because I wouldn't think it's right for me either (like I said, ANYBODY with a team). If we're just talking about setting lines, hey, no prob. But I don't think that anybody should have the right to change the players on more than one team.
It's got nothing to do with trust, and it's got nothing to do with thinking that anything unscrupulous is going to go on. It's simply that 2 organizations shouldn't be run by the same person, whether or not there's interaction between them in the league (i.e. no trading between them). Essentially the Kings will/would be run just like the Bruins... why should they be?
I would suggest 2 alternatives:
1) If the league wants to run the teams with respect to doing lines, calling people up from the farm, or every day things while LA learns in the background, no problem. But in this case, I'd like to see no trades happen with LA period. Or LA can still negotiate with other teams but it's the original GM doing the negotiating and because of the situation, the league can have to "approve" a trade before it happens, let alone look at it for a "veto". But it should be the original LA GM making any trade decisions. The league shouldn't make trades for the team.
2) Bring in someone who has no allegiences to any other team (i.e. no current "assistant" GMs) to run things in the meantime. I don't like the idea of current "assistant" GMs taking over, because after LA takes things back, that assistant GM will presumably go back to his former team. So the conflict of interest exists there.
