The Islanders would like to turn around this season and becomes ready for playoff success.
With the team not living up to expectations, players set to be UFA after this season would be available at some point, not to be bleeded off one by one for pittance but in a blockbuster deal with another team which would include several of: Hasek (82 ov), Sillinger (76 ov) or Rucinsky (76 ov), Konowalchuk (76 ov), Grahame (74 ov), Strudwick, Daigle, Nedved.
That kind of selling off of this year's chances would only be dome IN EXCHANGE for next year's push to make a Cup run. That means draft picks and NHL prospects aren't of particular interest, but guys doing well in the NHL now are of interest because they will re-rate well of course for NEXT season.
Same goes the guys in my organization. I'm much more willing to move an NHL prospect than I am to ever move a guy I drafted as a prospect but who is now an NHL rookie and will re-rate well.
And if it needs repeating (i've mentioned it at least a dozen times in the past: Pronger, Niedermayer, Brind'amour isn't anywhere near a market and if they were put on the market there would be a big press release about it as that would go contrary to every statement of the NYI franchise foundations. Those three ARE the franchise. For years to come.
If you get closer to the trade deadline and can't find your blockbuster trade, and reconsider moving guys individually (which I assume you would rather than just lose them at the end of the year for nothing...), let me know.

I would except, I just pulled the trigger on a blockbuster deal. Details to come.
It's amazing how many offers I've received in the last couple of days. And while I didn't take the most lucrative offer, I took the one that made the most sense given the team's priorities (re-rates, next season's success).
I sent you several PMs a week ago, have yet to hear back...
Several? I replied to your inquiries about Pronger and Niedermayer, indicating they are not on the market, are the cornerstones of the franchise is how I recall putting it.

There may have been something wrong with the board. I sent a few PM's regarding Rucinsky and Sillinger. Not a big deal as you still have them and now we are talking.
